Can you explain my good milage???

How many variables have you eliminated from your test? Did you use the same pump to fill the tank before the trip that you did after? Do you always fill the tank to the same level...I can pump another half gallon in mine after the fuel level reaches the point where the manual says it's full. Was the bike parked on a slope when you filled either time (another reason to use the same pump for your test)?

Speedometers seem to have variation from bike to bike as well.

I generally don't ride hard, weigh 215 lbs., and average an uncorrected 42 - 44 m.p.g. on a stock Gen 2. If you're truly getting 50+ m.p.g. you're doing great!

Unless the pump was off....I used 3.44 gallons...and always fill to the bottom of the neck WHILE I am sitting on the bike....I suppose the ground could have been sloped, but I didn't notice.

The ODO / trip computer could be off. The DIC (Drivers Info. Center) in my Solstice for average mpg is always 5-6 mpg off.
