Can you ride the Hayabusa for longer rides

I currently ride a Triumph 675, which is great for short runs but bad problems on longer trips. The seat is very high which puts lots of pressure on the hands and the seat gets hot over time with the exhaust under it. I have never had back or shoulder problems though.

I was looking to get into the Hayabusa but I have never rode one.I am 6 ft tall 200lbs and with the stretch out position of the rider on the bike my question is:

1) Can you ride it for 4 hour trips in relative confront(I say relative because it is a sport bike)?
2) If you feel any pain, where is it at?

I used to ride a GSX-R 600, and my new 08 busa seems to be more comfortable. I can ride a lot longer on it than I could on the gixxer. After a while my hands start to hurt cause my weight is leaning on them, I know your supposed to put more weight on the tank with your legs to help your arms. It is just habit, and after a while it starts to hurt. My rear starts to get a little sore after a while, but nothing like the gixxer and I had a gel seat on it. I currenly have the stock seat on the busa. I did about a 4 hour ride on mine and it was fine, but I was glad to be off the bike when I was done, lol.

I am riding mine from OKC to the east coast next month. I made several mods to make it more comfortable.
Yes you can ride long distances, 4 hours is a walk in the park.

the stock seat will make you question your sanity at about 250 miles.. at 500, you will be wondering how you are going to get home, at 750, you will be looking in the phone book for a replacement azz...

My record is 16 hours in one stint. I stopped for food and gas and that's it.

Stock seat, no risers, no other comfort mods (yet!). The busa is super comfy.

I really wish I had the throttlemeister on that trip. My wrists get sore but I have bad carpal tunnel so I get sore driving the car too. A few shakes of the wrist and I'm good to go again.

I came from a CBR1000rr and it was like night and day in comfort. I haven't done anything more than a couple hour run on it, but I wasn't able to do that on my CBR. Great all around bike!

Some mods on mine,

Heli bars,
Buell pegs
Throttle Meister
Bagster
Ventura pack/rack
cruise control
corbin seat,
Taking an airhawk just in case.
HID lamp
there's more but for comfort and touring those are the main mods,
Ask the Captain, we switched busa's at Eureka for about an hour.

it aint that bad to me. If I have uncomfort its my back but I have scoliosis

welcome to the org.

and I have no problem riding mine for any amount of time. My only problem I have is that I have a bad shoulder but with a Tobin seat and Heli bar it seem to solve the problem.

get heli-bars, new seat, buell pegs, and some kind of throttle lockand you should be good to go.

I have the heli-bars only, at 5'8", and rode 750 miles in one day. that is why I say get a new seat and throttle lock would have been nice.

In stock config I would typically run 400 miles a day on a day off without to much of a problem. I have tried helibars and the genmar riser and I prefer the genmar. The helibars change the angle to much to a dirtbike feel for me, but they are both great produtcs. Anway a set of risers double bubble and tobin seat with some buel pegs and I would ride it from coast to coast without blinking.

I've ridden mine from say NYC to Tampa Florida. Not as a straight shoot but in two days. about 650 miles each day straight with no change in the bars or he seat. Only change I had was adjustable rear sets which I had dropped as far down as possible.

I've also done from say NYC down to S.C. (600miles). That wasn't as comfortable because you've got someone on your back.

I just ran about my farthest, 650+mi in two days at this years' Spring Bash with wifey on the back for most of it; no real complaints 'cept when it was blazin hot! ridin the elevation-changing twisty mountain rds in S.C. 2-up is definitely a work-out but well worth the sight-seeing

I rode using billet grips with no throttle meister, lower 3/4" front n 2" rear, stretchd 9" and my butt never complaind thanx to the Tobin seat

-wish I would've had my vortex rearsets but those dint get on the bike til after I came home...they seriously up the comfort factor and IMO? more control of the bike than stock pegs.

daytona and I rode from south fl to deals gap in a day and back home the next.1500 miles round trip no comfort problems.

I road my stock 08 from Norfolk VA to Orlando Florida, took about 11 hours, but I was following my wife in the truck, after the first 4 hours My arms were done and my wrist were on fire. The stock seat is something I am going to replace soon man I was sore. but I always wanted to do it cant say I will do it again.

I don't know exactly what to say about this. My bikes are all stock and I think they are all comfortable (I have to exclude the dirt bike since I don't ride it on the road). I think a lot of my comfort is the result of wearing full gear all the time. Leather pants, boots, and gloves absorb a lot. Just my .02

Other than that my only guess is that motorcycles are designed for us folks that are 5'10" tall
