Can you ride the Hayabusa for longer rides

I have the Heli bars and the Tobin seats on mine. It is lowered 2 inches in the rear and i have to say love it. I have a VERY bad back and can go about 100 miles before i have to get off. My back, arm's and shoulder bother me at that point but with a 15 min. break i am ready to go again. I would like to figure out to lower the seat another inch but it would not be anything left if i did that. :laugh:I hope this helps and welcome.

I run 600+ miles a day frequently. I've done over 800 miles. I've ridden 5 hours just to get to the meeting point for a group ride. Stock seat, Gen Mar Risers, TL pegs, and cruise control. The cruise control will add a few hundred miles to your endurance.

My back and legs are fine but with the sorta long reach up to the bars my wrists start to hurt and my fingers can go numb and then after a couple hundred miles I need the throw some powder on the boys and my back side too.:moon::laugh:

Mine is completely stock, and the only thing that hurt on me was my ass. I use a full tank bag to rest on when my back is stiff, but stretching it, it never got sore.

Yeah that happened to me too, get some good riding gloves if you don't have some already. I notice with the gloves on ,the fingers don't go numb as quick, not sure why either.

There is an article posted somewhere about a couple that rode a Busa from Jacksonville FL to SanDiego CA and return in less than 50 hrs for the CCC50 Iron Butt ride. On a Busa is crazy enough, but two up?:cookoo:

1500 miles in 2 1/2 days. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs. Helibars and Buell pegs are my only comfort mods. Tobin seat is in my future.

Yep, I know 'em.....

That was Michael Glass and Viktoria Juodenaite who rode a '03 Busa on that 100CCC ride. They had fun, but as you can clearly see below, they surely did overpack for this 100-hour adventure:

Here's the write-up Michael Glass did on this ride ==> Two-up on a Hayabusa 100 CCC

I think that it was thier first time doing a ride like that. And he did have a girl with him.

I think the little pouch on the top of the tank bag was his.:cheerleader:

I find traveling long distances on the busa very comfortable. With the tank bag mounted I can rest the body when needed and travel for many miles. In the past 4 years I've put 20,000 miles a year on several bikes and have found the busa a great long distant traveler. Here's a pic from a recent run to Nevada. If you can only have one bike the busa works well on the long run and daily ride...Rick

Before I bought the busa I was looking to buy a used T-675, took it for a test ride and it felt like I was going to fall over front handle bars. But with the busa I can ride for hours, love this bike. It is so comfortable.

i ride 15 hrs to new mexico from apple valley. just stay out of 6th gear so you don't get the 4500 vibes. at cruising speed straighten out your right fingers and slip your hand over the throttle until the web of your thumb hits the grip. press down with your palm and roll back keeping your wrist and fingers parallel to your forearm. don't close your hand completely rest your hand on top of the throttle. and the o-ring trick works well. i use 3 and the left hand is similar, partially close your hand. i only grab hold when trucks pass or in heavy winds.
