Center stand is on!

(InsertOriginalNameHere @ Jun. 09 2007,14:21) $100 from the dealer?.. that's cheap!

How much is the pro-center one?

Which has more clearance?
I think he means pro or con! There is only one maker of a hard stand, Zuki! the kit and you need the kit, is around a C note. Used stuff if its been open will be missing stuff. Ebay has em 4 about $125.00 shipped now and then.

Ahh, that makes more sense... being "pro" a center stand.

If they're only $100 at the dealer plus tax, looks like that's the way I'd go since we don't have a 25% tax here in Mass.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Hey the stealler is going to get way more than a C note. Feebay is the place! there is one on there rite now for $119.00 buy it now + shipping. You won't be sorry. How about the org member who couldn't get his on? I bet he didn't remove the mount at the X @ the back of the eng. Don't forget to use alot of good grease B4 installing the bolt etc, there is no grease fitting. No Bull have this on in 20 min! And just fold the stand when installing the stiff springs! You will feel like a big fool if you don't!

(KROOZER @ May 30 2007,03:43) I just bought mine and after reading the direction on how to install it, I changed my mind. I took the advice of another member to use a breaker bar to bend the pipes a little to clear the way for the bolt. After a few attempts, I gave up. Up fpr sale soon.
Hey! I was one that said it was easy and you don't have to drop the header! You did remove the bolt for the rubber mount @ the Y under engine rite

I just found the rubber mount! Thats exactly whats holding it back. I cant seem to be able to remove the rubber mount. The rubber mount has a sleeve inside and cant seem to get it out. Otherwise, the stand would be done. Please help!

If I dont get it done by this week, anyone can have it for $100 TYD.

Hey as far as i know you don't need to remove the mount just the bolt! This allows the L- header tip to be pried down just that bit to get the pivot bolt on the mount hole. Make sure you got the stand ready with the sleeves installed. If you got a bud to help? I find you can have the springs on and still get the bolt to start. Got to be in the folded position. You do have your midpipe off rite??

MId pipes are off. Bolt is off. Tried to pry it down with a heavy duty screw driver but I feel Im gonna damage the exhaust at the front where the bolts on attached.

Well I can't C how if you give it as much as i did to get it on. What i had to do on new bike is pry down till bolt starts in the hole, then with stand in place just pry as much as needed to get it started a bit more until it in. No damage to any I've done.

The bolt will go in @ an angle, you will damage stuff if you think your going to get it down far enough to go straight in!

Did you get the PM ? Just loosen the 10mm head bolt from the R-side with ratchet and ext. Don't even have to take the bolt out.

Hey! just got back in front of this thing. I may have steered you off a bit! the problem bolt is the top bolt that is really the stop for the stand and not the pivot that actually mounts the stand to the bike like it sounds in the previous posts. That one will go in from under the stub of your header and is much easier to get in. Post your progress and what you found worked or

Thanks for everyone's input. I bought one of these yesterday on eBay. Suzuki OEM one for just about $130 shipped. I hope to get time to install it soon after I get it.

(legbuh @ Jun. 09 2007,08:02) Another pro center stand guy here. With the hump mod it's even easier getting it up as you can use the bar to grab onto while hoisting this pig!

YES, this one is exactly like mine! That's how mine looks too.

I bought mine at my local dealer,Honda/Suzuki of Alcoa. I got mine at a good price, not so much because I used to work there, but because they want to sell stuff. A little profit is better than none! They don't stock them, so not a lot of demand. I payed the same as people were selling them for on ebay and didn't have to pay shipping. If it's the same or near money as online I'm going to support my local dealer.
Hell, just ask them what kind of a deal they will make you on one. Doesn't hurt to ask. Also, I finally managed to scrape one of the bank angle sensors on 116 suday. I screwd up the corner, so I had to do a little correction. Other than freeking a little, no problems with scraping even at the gap!
YMMV
