Chain Lube

Believe it or not I use Castrol GTX 20-50, yup motor oil, check the service manual, that's what it says to use.

Have a Scottoiler on mine, they always make oil fly off on the back end to start with but once properly ajusted they work well especially in the crappy UK weather

I clean my bike every Friday after work and spend a little extra time cleaning off the flick from the lube round the number plate area, apart from that I find them very good. Saying that I think it's upto the individual I asked the Scottoiler question when I joined this forum and had mixed opinions.

Hope this helps in some way

PJ1 - Blue - goes on clear, stays clear, won't fly off ... use kerosene to clean it as per the book.

Maxim Cahin Wax on a warm chain...and clean with a soft bristle brush with Kerosene

I use Suzuki Chain Lube, it's O-Ring Safe... I havent used anything that dont fling! they are frickn' fling! I'm gonna start using oil though as suggested by the manual. Search for chain lube threads on the site theres lots more info!

Yup, chain wax is the stuff. Just make sure everything is warm. Once you get everything coated, wipe the chain down. You won't have anything fling off.

Btw, has anyone tried the Chain Wax on their garage door opener screw drive? How was it? I was thinking of doing it but not sure if it's going to work. I hate the messy lubricant on this screw drive. Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread...

Chain Wax to lube the chain!!! WD40 to clean the chain and the wax build up!

+1 more.

I never use any brush on a sealed o-ring chain, it just crams the grime into the o-rings. I clean the plates with WD-40 to make them purdey.

I use PJ1 and I use it on my garage door and the door hinges in my vehicles too... stuff works wonders..

Oh I know I should just tip toe through this one but....

Never use WD 40 to clean or lube your chain, drys out the '0' rings. Use only kerosene to clean (per factory instructions) and I only use SS-51 Sidewinder Chain & Sprocket Lube. Won't sling off and make a mess on your bike or your wheel. As a fall back I have so many cans of PJ1, Chain Wax, Maxima, etc. but they just take up space on the shelf because I will never use them again. This stuff is super and I am probably the only one the board using it!

I would bet a pile of nickles that his lube is a repackage of one of the others... really I do not think there is a bad one.. just preferences from years of usage.. I started using PJ products when I was a kid riding dirt bikes... never left them.. but have tried the others..
