Make mine a wood pellet grill. I have used both gas and charcoal but nothing comes close to a wood pellet. For those who don't know what a wood pellrt grill is check out traegergrills.com:thumbsup::thumbsup:[/url]

i use wood chunks sometimes. is this similar???

Not sure what wood chucks are. The pellet grill uses small pellets that drop into a firepot to burn. There are about 10 different wood types to choose from. You can smoke something like a smoker grill does or just grill like gas and charcoal. Check out the website, Terry Bradshaw is their spokesperson

We Boertjies in South Africa braai over charcoal or hardcoal wood coals.
Incidently I love my Weber.....:beerchug:

+100 on the wood. Best steaks I ever did were over green (fresh) red oak. I use gas on the deck for utility, but nothing beats the flavor of cooking over wood coals.

Um, wood coals are the same thing as charcoal.

There is NO difference....gas or coals. Once the gas grill is seasoned and burned in. The flavor comes from the oils left on the lava rock (OR equivelent) Adding wood chips adds the smoky flavor, just soak them in water for a bit.

Bobby, some things are like a tire fire, trying to put it out only makes it worse. You just gotta grab a beer and let it burn."
