You better not put any $$$ on the line. Hardley Ableson's have huge amounts of torque for their displacement. 150 cubic inches equals more than 2400 cubic centimeters. He could easily out HP you at that displacement. Your 1340cc Bus is only displacing 81ci. If this guy can get his bike weight down in the 600 pound range, you better know how to race... or run. I have an '06. I raced an HA up Hwy 15 heading north, between San Bernardino and Adelanto (CA). I dont know what he was running, but he kept up with me thru 150mph and he was on a custom chop HD. I don't know how much throttle he had left but he is not the one who backed off... I had to change hwy's...
I would suggest you twist the throttle harder next time.

That 150mph was probably a true 130mph too (speedo's are optimistic until corrected). Something not too unheard of for a hog with alot of money sunk into it for power but even if it's power/weight can mimic that of a busa, keep in mind it's still a cruiser chassis and design not made for those speeds. I've test rode a few well beefed up hogs in my time and while power figures were nice for a old v-twin, the ride above 100mph is anything but. Headshake is insane even with a dampner installed, your pretty much a parachute with the way the wind hits you no matter how you try to tuck in (which is as futile as shoveling snow with a fork), and no matter how well the bike is built it sounds and feels like everything is coming apart. And this is just at 125mph.

As to the first poster, take "chopper dave" on a run from 40mph to 170mph or 1 mile rolling run. If he doesn't give up i'm afraid it's likley his bike WILL.

I agree...Not to mention that at 125mph, the big twin might be about to give up...at least don't twist that wrist for too long.

I have a friend i work with who is a harley rider who suggested to me one day that a vrod could keep up with my 06 in the qtr.....Needless to say I looked at him like he had a third eye in the middle of his head....I asked him how long he had been using lsd cause he was sure fire on a trip to think that...lol

Remind him that the first 4 gears on the 'busa are used when riding with choppers and H-D guys. The 5th gear is used when riding with other sport bikes. AND THE 6TH GEAR IS USED WHEN RIDING WITH OTHER 'BUSA'S!!!!!!!!!!

Don't mock the poor harley guys, request a cash race politely....and take the cash and them to the bank. Or go for pinks, but I wouldn't ride a Harley, I don't own enough tools! Or spare parts.... when they fall off rattling down the road at 90 mph.
