Christmas help...

Get him a couple of small things. If your budget is 500 get him the new ipod video for 299. I love my ipod, I play movies on it, listen to music, play games (cheesy games), holds my contacts list and calender. Not the mention all the accessories you can get for it.

Since you saved 200, go get an old used xbox for 99.00, PM me and I will mod it for you with a 80 gig HD to burn games to, I will also make it a media center where you can burn games, movies, play music, and store pictures. Trust me on this, once he has a modded xbox he wont play that ps2. And to think, rent a game and burn or just download them from the internet.

Or go with the remote, that looks awesome, going to send that link to the wifey.

Thanks for the offer Dave, but I'm so unsure of whether or not he'll even want an XBOX...he's talked about the new XBOX coming out, but I just don't know if he'll get it...

He's just tough to buy for...he wants so much, then when you think you've gotten him something he'd like, he returns it...do you know how many gifts I've "suffered" through and just kept?

I don't want to upset him Paul...

Silly boy...stop obsessing over that pic of me...I swear...

Hope he doesn't read this...

I did get him the pipe bender...opted to not spend the $135 for the pedestal because I know he'll likely want to mount it to something he's fabricated...

And, I didn't buy any of the dies because I have no idea what size pipe he's thinking he'll bend...

I also got him tons of the nice clay poker chips so he and his buddies can act like they know how to play Texas Holdem...got a few small things to get still...probably buy that new Madden football game for PS2; maybe our sons will share their PS2 with him!

Thanks for so many ideas though guys...I'm looking at that "remote" for my Dad...he was just complaining to me last night about how many remotes he's got...

Does he have a welder? If you get the pipe bender without the stand and he has a welder it would not be a problem. He's going to need a welder anyway to assemble the go-cart frames. Does he have a hyd motorcycle jack? they can be used for LOTS of different applications. not knowing his tool inventory kinda makes it tough. Torch kit? Grinders? any kind of metal fabrication tools?

He's got a very nice welder...he made our kids bunk beds with it...check it out...

He's also got a motorcycle stand...he never uses it though...

His goal is to have enough tools to just build anything! It's going to have to happen slowly...very pricey hobby!

I hope so Jim...he kept asking me last night if what I got him was 'heavy'?

I'm hoping he's not thinking "Donzi" and more along the lines of "that pipe bender I've wanted for two years now!"

He loves fabricating stuff...I keep telling him to quit his job, take the lump sum in his retirement acct and just do something he'd love, like making go carts or learn to build motorcycles...that's up his alley...

He does like music, but his car's got a killer stereo system in it plus a nice system at home...I don't know that he'd use it...

I got him the pipe bender so he can build cages around things my boys may want to wreck!
