A lot of people still think he can walk on water. He doesn't want them to be bitterly disappointed when they realize that he doesn't really know for sure what all the answers are.
His best bet is to paint a very very grim picture and then public expectations for "change" will go down. Not good for consumer confidence but good for Obama.
This attitude has become very tiresome; a vehement dislike of Obama with constant assumptions that he has selfish or bad intentions. I understand not agreeing with political views but to automatically judge someone as evil based on ties created by the idiotic is rediculous. McCain and Bush were judged that way by extreme Liberals and it was just as wrong. These people have intentions for the good and whether they are successful is not a reflection of their ethics. I wish we could just move past this insistance on partisan politics and become one country again.
