Cool cop story

Golly, I love this story. Mine was in a 45 mph zone and I was doing 75.....but not on my Busa but on my DRZ400SM (with a bit of Yoshimura et al breathing on it). The policeman, in a plain blue Toyota, said politely, "Ma'm, please slow down for me" and I replyed "Thank you very much, I will." Being very polite and remaining on your bike, bike off, hands on the bars, will help. So says a very good friend who happens to be a SWAT Team instructor.

See ya

Sounds like you had a really cool cop yourself.

I got pulled over for doing 35 mph on the interstate for an extended period of time

1992 Volvo 240 had electrics made by 3rd graders...rubbish! Got stuck in overdrive or 2nd gear or something and wouldnt go past 35mph. I was debugging it on the move in the slow lane when I got pulled over. Cop actually laughed his ass off

I was told in Michigan... You can run from Detroit Cops because there fat, stupid and don't care. You Drive slow in RosseVille, Michigan and you do 4 over MAX in Ohio. I have NEVER heard of a Ohio cop letting anyone off on I-75. You sir are VERY LUCKY.

I pulled over a couple of guys last night for speed / careless, one was on a 954 and the other on a Katana. I cut them both a break, and talked with them about their bikes for a few minutes. You'd think the holy ghost himself had pulled these guys over, their jaws just hit the ground when I told them I was giving them a warning.

There are a BUNCH of cops in my district that ride sportbikes, and three that ride Busas. Of course, most bikes get pulled over by the bike hating nazi cops, because those of us who ride seldom bother. Warnings like the one mentioned, in my biased police opinion, actually have MORE of an effect than a ticket. Riders who get a break are usually a lot more inclined to be careful and mindful than the one who just got f**ked out of $200 on a speeding ticket. I actually can't remember the last time I gave a biker a ticket for speed......

Hey Bboy69,

Didn't you get a ticket for like 82 in a 55 about this time last year?

I had a nice FHP officer give me a warning last Saturday. I had just turned onto a two lane hilly curvy road, just hit third gear as I topped the hill and there he was. I saw him turning around in my mirror. As I rounded the curve I saw him with the lights on, the suv in front of me pulled over so I was hoping the officer was after him, I pulled into a little gas station and he pulled in behind me. As he approached me I removed my gloves and helmet. He said "I clocked you going 73 in a 55", I didn't say anything, what could I say, when I looked at my speedo when I saw him, that's about what I was going. He repeated himself and then asked for my license, registration and proof of insurance (insurance is not required in Fl). I handed him all three and he explained how the roads are also a playground for bicyclists and there's been too many bikes and cars speeding out there. To make a long story not quite as long, after he made a comment about how rare it is to find someone that actually has insurance on a bike, he sat in his car for a few minutes, came back to me told me to come back again and ride his roads often (he lived just around the corner) He used to race bikes and liked my hayabusa. He gave me a warning and I was on my way.

I asked if I could shake his hand and thanked him.

Nice guy he was.

Holy crap you got a good memory man! Haha. You were very close it was January of 05 and it was 87 in a 65 on I-275 but yes he actually cut me a ticket for that one. This was the first break I have ever gotten.

Your long day turned into a bad day turned into a worst day turned into a good day.

Strange how a little honesty (and luck) can turn bad into good.

I'm happy it all worked out for you.
