Cowl installation

Yes in deed, a Baxley is the bomb.

The Pitbull is adjustable, but I left it at it's lowest point. Smooth, on and off. No heavy leverage here. Handle works great, and I can stow it, not trip on it. I wonder what's up with yours ?.

Hey Hidago !.

I see you have a Woodcraft, I have a Pitbull. If you look at the pitbull the rear bracket is quite a bit longer and if you put a handle on the end of it you get a lot of push for very little effort. Like I said, I put it down low so I'm really not jacking it up very high. When I put the front up on the front stand and the rear on the rear stand I like it to be level.

I know those short loop paddock stands with a Hayabusa can be an awful lot of work. There is a lot of effort between balancing the bike getting the spools lined up, and then getting a hold of the stand and pushing down.

The cowl is in I’ll take a picture in the am ,had a hard day getting RV
ready for winter storage. Calling for rain the rest of the week .

Spud, I have the same pit bull..with the same removable handle, didnt like it at all on the busa, woodcraft waay less, effort

Wow, it's easier, right on. I thought you hadn't tried the Pitbull. My friend lent me his paddock stand once, and it had a short handle. Very hard to rotate.

I don't have any trouble with mine at all. Easy to get a hold of, and smooth lifting.

As long as we have a nice simple routine for getting the back end up, in a secure position, so we can clean, grease, do maintenance, life's good.

I remember back in the Gen I days, people were dropping their bikes a lot. The biggest challenge was remembering to make sure the side stand was down......

Apologies for the thread-jack.

Guess what I Have yes yes yes ?

Is the rear seat pillion, factory seat now not cowl, the same as previous years? Or is it also a totally new design? I ask as I read somewhere (possibly here) about using that to easily mount a rear tail bag too, then one can merely using a key change the seat out if you want a rear seat. I was going to begin looking for one if they are the same from 2019 for example to modify. Appreciate any guidance. Thanks

Rear seat and rear seat cowl are 2 different parts, and are gen3 specific.
Gen2 parts do not fit.
@Blanca BusaLess years ago took a passenger seat pan(no foam or cover) and bolted a hard case to it big enough to get a helmet and then some in it.
Pretty genious idea for cheap and simple luggage.

Bingo that is what I was thinking as well. I will never have a passenger, but, I do have sh..t I take always, tire pressure gauge, lens cleaners, glasses cleaners, spare gloves, that type of stuff, so to me re-purposing the seat pan is a perfect location for this and it will become my back stop similar to that of the Cowl to stop me from sliding off the back in TC 02 :) Any idea as to what the part # is that I should be looking for since I will purchasing a new passenger seat for this. I will keep the original in the event I either sell it or possibly show it - Where i live don't expect to see a Gen 3 for a long time... Thanks

Ha! I remember that…..vaguely?
There is no specific part number because what I used was a storage box that came off a cheap scooter a friend had. That’s all it was was one of those plastic boxes on the backs of scooters. Pretty sure it was blue and a close match to my bike and that’s what gave me the wild idea.
What I don’t really remember was how I attached it? Don’t think I used a seat pan as being cheap as I am I wouldn’t have spent money on it. Found the box in my shed.
Now you got me wondering? If sixpack is talking about it I must have posted pics here?

Don’t forget the garbage can mod. Ask em how to get a gallon of milk under your seat.

Yes sir, you did post pictures, I do remember that, and it was such a simple and cool idea that it stuck with me.
Did you go to/use it for a Busa Bash trip?
From memory(for whatever that's worth, lol) you bolted the box to another passenger seat pan???
Looks like you came back and now found out you have homework, lol

Scooter box simply on top of seat held down by a bungee net for local rides.

When I went to the bash I used the net along with two ratchet straps to keep it down for the 900 mile rides back and forth.

That is hilarious, imagine trying to get to anything inside quickly, like rain jacket :) - Okay so at this point purchasing a single rear passenger seat since I cannot find any Suzuki parts listings for 2022 Hayabusa's anywhere in the world shall wait until parts listings are readily available... I have the perfect tail-bag " Moose Racing " which I will be taking off the K1600 very soon. I see this option truly as a Win-Win in that it acts like the cowl from a seat back position but provides expandable storage. You made my day - Good for you sir!

Raingear was strapped to the back and easily accessible.
Scooter box had pad and back support so I could sit up a bit more and stretch while riding. I got about five days worth of clothes and other needed stuff in it.
It worked but of course wasn’t the best option unless free counts? :)
