DiabloBusa went down

TruWrecks was in very good spirits, he took it in stride..I have full confidence that he will bounce right back.

He is also a nice guy and it hurt to see him go down..id much rather see some cocky punk kid go down.

Get well soon buddy! We can hit Baker another time..it aint going anywhere.

I'm having second thoughts about the frame sliders I put on now, did they do anything for you? [/QUOTE]

Yes they worked, look at the right side...the lower fairing suffered a scuff and that it.

If anyone on a sportbike doubts the benefit of sliders, look closely at the pic of the right side of my bike.

How do you think it would've faired without them?

That should remove any doubt!

Sorry to hear your going to be out for the rest of the year. Like BV said Mt. Baker isn't going anywhere. Maybe next year same ride more people?
Take care.

holy crap, Rex...how the hell did I miss this?

Damn dood.......reaal glad you're not worse off. At least the bike don't look to be in bad shape either. It doesn't seem like it'll be too costly to fix up.

Damn....glad yer still with us, bud. Heal up quick, ya hear?

Most here probably didn't remember what Diablobusa is.

That, and I put it in the crash/accedent forum.

Nah nah....I mean, I remember diablobusa...but I don't know how it slipped me that you crashed.

Guess I must be slipping...

Glad to hear you're ok, sorry about Diablobusa. You came out lucky, we tend to forget that low speed crashes can be deadly. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Stock cans are boxed up ... where do ya want me to send them? Glad to know YOU'll be around to open the box!!!

Not picking on ya Pac. :wizard: I was intending to say that not as many people have been looking at the crash/accident thread, as the general bike thread for the crash reports.

No biggie!

Have a cold one for me Pac! Oh, cold you get me some ice water while you're up?

I really apreciate the offer. I'll be calling my insurance agent tomorrow to see if it'll be worth filing a claim.

So far I'm looking at about $2000 for the bike repairs (retail), about $300 to fix my camera (it's a Canon D60 SLR), and $400 to replace my GPS (the screen and antenna are broken).

I'll keep you posted.

I also told BV I get him the links to a few of my photography shots.

Doug,
I'm glad to hear you are okay at least. You know pain transfer from the back to shoulder could've been done through hypnosis or something.

Godspeed on recovery. If I had been modding my bullet, I'd be sending parts. But for now all I can send is words of encouragement.
Get well soon

Charlie

You people are incredible. Don't worry about sending anything. I apreciate all of the responses, and help, very much.

I wrote a list af all parts that need to be replaced, and took it to my local dealer for repair costs. The total cost of parts and labor is more than $10,000. The front forks are also slightly bent causing the front wheel to drag on the brakes.

Diablobusa will be totaled, and I won't be able to buy it back.

After talking it over with the wife, I will be buying a new bike next year. That'll give me the whole winter to get my shoulder and back fixed. I'm not sure what kind of bike I'll get then, but I'll let you know when I decide.

Hopefully you won't ming me lurking about until then.

This is still one of the best motorcycle forums I've ever found! Keep up the good work! Hopefully I've been able to contribute something of value to this site.

Ride safe, think safer!

Tru , you have to buy it back !! It will cost you about a grand but you can part it out very easily! Don't let some junk yard make the cash, you'll make enough to get a nice down on a new one. PM me. And I am sorry to hear about the accident. I guess you won't be coming this weekend huh. You let that throttle arm rest . Speedy recovery and if you need anything let me know! No wonder BV didn't say how your ride went.

Funny, I was just thinking the exact opposite... Looks to me like they didn't do a damn thing... Except prolly bend and crack the fairing where they were mounted, maybe tweeking the mounts in the frame in the process...

My .02...

Damn sorry to hear the Busa is being totalled. That sucks. How did the Mrs. take the news?
