Dr Gerald Bull, inventor of the Supergun. Only artillery piece ever made to launch a shell into low earth orbit. This allowed for phenomenal distances to be achieved. NATO put him up to it but by the time he perfected it other technologies had surpassed it's capabilities. We shunned him and he went elsewhere to the middle east. These were the huge tubes Britain seized on their way to Iraq during the Gulf War. Basically sections of the barrel of the gun. After the seizure the USA was amazed at how scaled up the gun actually was. It would have fired a shell over 200 miles which puts the rounds right on top of Israel. Israel and the Mossad got wind of this and next thing you know Bull gets a .22 to the back of the head outside his apt in Belgium. End of story. Popular theory is that it was the Israelis but they will never admit to it. Anyway it was quick.

We have to expend millions hunting people down and utilize mass resources instead of just simple 'whacking' folks.
No wonder we are going broke. Can't even kill terrorists cheaply anymore!

I think the world is better off without the guy in it. He was engaged actively in acts of war and violence against the USA and promoted others to do so as well. He was a traitor to the country and as such would have been executed here. Whats the difference ,so a few lawyers didnt get stupidly wealthy on the backs of the taxpayers for defending him. The way I see it, regardless of cost of operation to kill him it was still exponentially cheaper than having a trail, the verdict of which without question would have been guilty so whats the big deal.

People are too PC these days, its not so much an issue of citizenship. He was actively engaged in warfare against our country. He wasnt a spy (those guys got axed too after a court date) he wasnt some protester, he was a terrorist and an enemy combatant. The day he picked up his sword (or pen, keyboard, etc) to fight against the USA he effectively renounced his citizenship IMHO. He became legal tender on the terrorist kill board and I will sleep better knowing we are willing to go after EVERYONE that we can prove is actively fighting against us in the war on terror. I actually would support the same operation if the guy lived stateside, as long as he was the only target that was eliminated and no collateral damage taken.

Until we take the fight to the terrorists they still win. I think this type of thing falls into the take the fight to them category

But whatever happened to backdoor assasinations? Why couldnt he have just died of 'food poisoning'?
No we have to publicly announce on the CNN ticker that another top al Qaeda member has been bit with a drone attack.

We should be taking lessons from the Soviet school of 'processing' folks.
A simple poke in the calf from an ops poison tipped umbrella or something?
Drone released rocket attacks are so passé these days. I want more cloak and dagger stuff.

Either that or we could have just hired Mossad to do it and it would have been done years ago!

There are Hundreds of Covert Military Missions that happen outside the United States that we Never Hear of for a reason. Why this ???

The next time a terrorist calls a friend for a place to crash the response might be, "I'm busy" or "I booked you a room at Motel6, please stay away from my neighborhood".

Be glad guys that ur country has the balls to kill terrorists.........they have no right to a trial!!! See us here in India for example........terrorists enter Mumbai...shoot away innocent citizens..kill 164 injure 308,terrorist ajmal is arrested and has been on trial since.....3 years on trial, enjoying VIP facilities in jail, free medical facilities, free security....Special jail cells...India has spent USD 33 Million :-( the tax payers money.....after he slaughtered innocent citizens in cold blood....

All that expense or the alternative - a .25 cent bullet....that's why I'm glad they double-tapped Bin Laden saved us a lot of money, and we would never have gotten to interrogate him using 'advanced methods' anyway cause the ACLU would have been screaming bloody murder for his 'rights'...yep, double-tap was best alernative.
