Only bike I can think of is a Hyosung (sp). And I was shouting the whole time he shouldn't be using the rear brake anyways. " I had to come to complete stop to negotiate a corner with gravel".......LMAO.

Wow, I'm surprised that I disagree with most of you.  If I was selling a bike, I would let people test drive it.  Of course they would have to show me their licence.  And leave something of value with me (cash, vehicle, hot girlfriend, etc).  And of course, if you wreck it, you buy it.

I'm in the process of looking for a bike(I'm jonesing soooo bad!).  I have been to 1 place that will let you test drive.  It's the only dealer I will buy from right now.  In the past 2 weeks, I have been to 4 dealers and was ready to buy.  But 3 of the 4 didn't allow test drives.  Two were absolutely no test rides.  One was no test rides on sport bikes.  So I walked.  I'm glad I did.  I later test drove one of the bikes I was going to buy, and realised I didn't like it(SV1k).  Good thing I didn't drop the 9k.  Compare this with car dealers.  Would you even think for a split second of buying a $10k car or truck without test driving?  But you're saying you would expect someone else to do just that on a motorcycle - a vehicle where if you aren't comfortable or just don't feel right, you end up hurting yourself or someone else.

Anyway, anyone in the Wichita KS area know of decent dealers that allow test rides?  Or just good dealers (new and used).  I'm not so worried about buying something new if I have riden one already.

Talk to Hal or Sonny or one of the other locals Im sure they will hook you up

The only test rides I give are me on front and the buyer on back. If thats not enough they can move on to the next bike

Even cash in hand won't get a test ride, cause they might decide thats reason enough to go nuts on the bike and bang a sloppy gear, or miss a shift or 2...then I find the crunchy tranny/skipping gear after they leave

I own nothing but hyperbikes, which every kid wants to come by and take a free spin on

If you sell your bike during peak riding season for a fair price it'll sell

I would allow the buying dealer to test ride. They have to sign a legal agreement to purchase the bike, or give me full trade value, before the get the key. They may look at it all they want prior to that.

If the moron was using the front brake at all he wouldn't notice the rear brake much anyway. The bike would have been stopped in no time. One question though. How deep was the gravel if he had to stop for it?

retarded judge calls it a bicycle more than once.

new price in 06 apparenttly was $1475?

no clue on what bike you can buy for $1500 brand new unless it was in fact a bicycle

Sure they can test ride it....if they put cold hard cash in my hand, then if they wreck it it's already paid for.

He said he was going 25...    how much braking did he really need to do in the first place?

Oh and that chic is WAY too hot to be his girlfriend.  He probably paid her since bringing his fellow chess team members to the case would not help him win.
