For whatever it's worth, the Corbin seat doubled my range before monkey-butt set in.

There are several downsides, such as, it's heavier than stock. It took about 3000 miles to totally break in; about 3 times longer than previous Corbins. It is wider, so if you like to hang off, it restricts that maneuver. Fore and aft movement is not affected after the first 1000 miles or so. Initially, the seat rises a bit in the front middle. This softens fairly quickly.

The stock seat is not bad for an OEM, but it is very flat and suffers from foam that is much too soft. I can still do 200-250 on it before feeling pain.

I have done several trips of 450+ miles in a day on the Corbin after breakin without even noticing that I was sitting on a motorcycle seat. That's the highest praise I can give.

When I first got the Busa, I suffered from the numbness in the wrists and hands.I had to stop and get off the bike once, at about 200 miles. I had solved that problem on other bikes by raising the bars. For a bike with sport touring pretensions, the Busa's stock bars are ridiculously low.

I put Heli bars on, and that helped. I added GenMar risers under the Helis and that helped a lot more.

I don't even notice any problem now until about 350 miles. It is still easily bearable at 450+.

I took the plastic ring off and carefully ground the tabs off that retain the stock grip, making it smooth and allowing the progrips to slide all the way on. Easy.

Pete, Parts Canada & Motovan Motosport are the Canadian distributors for "Pro Grips", excellent Italian made grips!.. Your local dealer should be able to get them next day for you! $12.95-30 cdn.

Good Luck!..while your are it, fan through the catalogs and make yourself a Xmas wish list now!!
:)

You can find Johar grips just about anywhere. There damn near the cheapest grips you can buy, but for me they work the best...Just ask any of my victims. I didn't have to cut my stock grips off either. Just take your time and you can peel them right off. No muss, no fuss.

I've got Johar foam grips on my 2000 Busa and they work fine. I just had to take my Dremel tool out and do a little cutting, and sanding on the throttle, but it wasn't a big deal. The results are fantastic.

The foam grips are so comfy. I can ride the back roads all day without any hand fatigue.

:)

Thank-you "Richard Simmons" for the health/workout routine,,but here's another alternative to a more comfortable ride, buy a set of Helibars or Genmar Install better grips and get a throttlemiester cruise control...All problems solved...enjoy your ride!! Pete I'll send you a set of grips for free..give me your address!

Yeah, I did the same thing to my 99----I cut that little lip off and the grip fit fine---then. I put the bike on the trailer and the extension straps popped that sucker right in half. $26.00 and a weeks wait on a new throttle barrel that came with a stock grip. I always wondered what would I do if that barrel had broke 100 miles from home. There would have been no way to get past idle. 50 hours later at idle?????

Pete,

OMEGA is right.. use a dremel and cut off that "ring" that holds on the throttle grip.... then glue on some new ones.. well worth the effort... I have changed them on previous suzuki's, just have to get off my azz and change the ones on the busa.. too thin!
