dont let infections get this bad

there is nothing more lame than surviving a nasty wreck, having shoulder surgery(torn rotator cuff and 4 breaks in the humorless) just find out your leg is a bit infected. now after having surgery on it my poor wife( trooper) has to change my dressings and pack a 4 inch hole that travels down to my ankle with gauze sponges.

first photo is before sugery you can see the nasty infection
This one looks not that bad... Healing as it should...

Get well soon!!!!

I totally understand what you're going through. I went down on a Virago 15 years ago and tore up my foot pretty bad. It took 7 months to fill in the hole and scar over. Daily dressing and cleaning, lots of discomfort, etc. Yuk.

Keep your chin up and take good care of those wounds. You'll be all patched back together in no time.
Is that one 15 years ago? If so you should post "after" picture as well. That one looks scary...
Here is 15 years after. Much different after the initial scar over, then a skin graft from my thigh to replace the thick scar tissue that was limiting the movement of my foot.

Sorry Busablu, I wasn't meaning to hijack your thread... I just wanted to show that those nasty looking wounds can actually heal up quite nicely over time.

looks good bro, i get worried every now and then, but i think after the infection clears out ill feel better about healing

my cousin went down on a dirtbike when we were younger and stuck the footpeg behind his shinbone about six inches below the knee and it came up and ripped his kneecap out.hes got a plastic kneecap now with about a two and a half inch scar, hard to believe somethin that bad can heal so well.

i have seen lots of rude sh!t but man ! i almost hurled , and i have a strong stomach , gave me that curly feelin in side ! ugh . abd hang on to your wife if she can handle that , and then let you buy another bike , SHES A KEEPER!!!!!!!!!! good luck hope it heals quickly

Come to think of it, Ms. Wag's shin injury from April just finally finished healing up a week or so ago. It can take a while. She had a fungal thing going on which was healed up with some kinda topical cream.

Cut the calf of my right leg in half back in 1992 on my V Max. It took 6 months to heal up.... Bad wounds have to heal from the inside out, and your right changing the bandage hurts like hell.. Let me tell you deer and a cycle don't mix well. I always thought at night I would have time to slow down their eyes reflect the light. Well come over a rise in the road with them running away and their a$$es don't reflect worth a dam!
