Sam you R a Jerk!  This is all your fault. If you hadn't "won" that contest and if you had paid hard earned money, you're bike would have been fine. But NOOOOOOOOOO! Look what you have done.

Shame on you!  I've changed my mind obout this whole thing.

that's kinda how I took it... a bunch of satisfied PAYING customers, and Sam with his screwed up freebie. personally I'd ride it, but I'm also the kind of guy that considers the bike washed after a rainstorm. I do understand the choice not to ride it too, not just for pride, but if anything happens, it's your loss. like the saying goes, it only takes 1 f* up to erase a lifetime of good work, for it's the bad that people choose to remember. good luck

XXX YOU`VE BEEN BUSTED !!MAN UP AND FIX SAMS BIKE ASAP..

XXX - Kevin and Camesha;
I am one of the members here who has seen the pictures of Sam's bike immediately following its retreaval from your facility and those taken since.  Here is what I understand of the situation:  Sam won a contest, the prize for which was sponsored by XXX.  This contest should have served as a mobile billboard to show case your company's quality, worksmanship and work ethic.  The unfortunate reality of the case is two fold:
1.  Sam is a member of a nearly 20,000 strong Hayabusa online "community".
2.  This contest IS serving as a mobile billboard to show case your company's quality, worksmanship and work ethic.

How you handle Sam as a customer is absolutely representative of how you conduct business specifically because the quality of your work should not be affected by the weight of your workload; you offered the prize for this contest, at which time you made a statement that you were looking to not only take care of the little guy who couldn't afford the work otherwise, but to show a genuine love of motorcyclists and thier machines.  How can you offer what you have done for magazines as representative of your work ethic and quality and not recognize that Sam's bike was equally important because you offered the service and the quality you stand on?  What I am asking of you is that you work with Sam to resolve the situation in a way that is reflective of the original intent of the contest.  I ask this because that is the only possibility that you have of avoiding alienating a "class" of motorcycles - you have to see that this has already jumped from EBC to hayabusa.oRg, Busanation is
next, etc.

I suggest that you do a google search of the term "Hayabusa forum" and research the potential word of mouth impact that a link to this thread will carry - it is probable that word has already started to spread.

If there were purchases made by Sam that were not honored, then we can discuss that with Sam and come up with a solution, but that does not and will not absolve you of your responsibility to stand behind your workmanship.

You have discussed you reputation and all that it means to you; I understand that as well as any and I dare say, better than some.  Unless you are willing to state that you do not stand behind your work and do not guarantee customer satisfaction, I don't see how you can avoid working dilligently to resolve this issue.

As a person who works in manufacturing and production scheduling, the difficulty that I am having is, why wasn't his bike a priority for a service that you offered?  I am not saying that his bike should have been the first priority, but it should have been a normal priority where a paying customer who brought thier bike in after he did, simply fell in line behind him.  To have done then or to say now that his bike was not a priority, speaks volumes to me and what is says is that:

XXX is rewarding a person who cannot afford chrome, with a service the XXX cannot afford to provide so the person to suffer will be the customer (contest winner).

I am certainly insignificant to you, I owe you nothing and you are in no way indebted to me, however, please understand this.  I have two tools immediately at my disposal:

1.  Time to address issues such as these.
2.  A devotion to members of this board and the broader "online" community.

Even more significantly, I am not alone.  I am pleading with you to work with Sam to resolve this to your mutual benefit, again observing the original intent of the contest that Sam won, and you agreed to sponsor.

Very respectfully,
MC Mustang

**EVERBODY NEEDS TO STFU N LISTEN**

I spoke with Kevin personally today-probly at the same time as his wife over 400 miles away was posting her response to this thread (Kevin was in the shop working-had no clue of the thread his wife was made aware by one of their other happy customers...and yes they have many. I saw too many pics obviously their work to refute that)  Kevin stated he did try to contact Sam Monday to see if he had picked up the bike n liked it, but he could not reach Sam via phone-this is true cuz Sam told me he was going to change the # Sunday. After speaking with Kevin I left him my email cuz its still f**kn cold here n ridn up to Glendale aint my idea of a fun ride.
Sam, Jenny-to you I say, give Kevin a call tonight, n if you dont reach him play fone-tag with msgs till you do, and let Kevin replace the inners, mirrors, n undertail with color-matched blue pieces that match the bike...
Im presuming since you dint say anything about the blue-chromed areas that they are still good, excl. that section on the left fairing where it was cracked??

SamsBusapics_005a.JPG

Kevin offered instantly to fix the parts when I told him what happened, and he made no attempt to deny that the parts were poorly chromed-the silver parts n undertail were done by Kevin's assistant, according to Kevin, and they can be fixd n made to match the rest of the 3-color chrome stuff quickly.

I really urge you, Sam, to call Kevin and try to be cool n just run you old tail for awhile, no inners, and no mirrors-you would miss riding more than you would hate the funny looks from folks...remember when Amy told me NOT to ditch my Busa after I THREW HER OFF!
rock.gif
cooler heads prevailed and now I have a f**kn SICK azz Busa bro.
If you let Kevin rework those parts to match (ph yeah throw in the hump n front fender) you're bike will look BANANAS, Sam-seriously dude I told ya I DONT EVEN F**KN like CHROME! and your bike looks sweet to me, aside from the silver flaky s**t.

I know, you feel royally screwd in all of this, no matter what...but just think you saved THOUSANDS n only wasted a few hundred on gas/travel costs....at least we got to finally meet!
thumb_up.gif

I realize you think that both Kevin n Camesha are full of s**t at this point, but in reality?? you dont have much to lose by trying to get new parts from them at this point-a whole helluva lot easier to send out parts n wait 2,3,or even 4 weeks for replacements, versus taking this to court n making it a big battle... there's just so much negative engergy wrapped up in all this n [/B]OTHERS who werent even involved with this are gettn waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to worked up....can you say, "WOOO-SAAAHHH" fellas?
beerchug.gif

Kevin doesnt have a number to contact you with Sam-I leave it up to you if wana talk with Kevin about this, or go legal with it...I've said my piece as the whole "3rd party" guy, and I just hope you get s**t all worked out to where we can roll out next year to the Bash n meet some newbs who see your Busa n go "ooooooooohhhhh, MAN! that thing is hella f**kn cool, Bro-who's XXX on the tail there?" and you can tell'em the story with a HAPPY ending...best of luck brother, and I'm still here-if you need anything holla.

Scott, you missed the part of the post that talked about the side fairings, tail section and front cowling. Pix are included of the tail section a few pages back.

I'll respond to XXX's ENTIRE post after I have a smoke

I would not want them to touch anything. Who's to say in six (6) months the paint peels again. And, if they offer a "guarantee" would you believe that?

Nope. New body work for me. Once is enough.

BigDiesel thats awesome that you went and talked to Kevin and helped get things fixed....but Camesha and Kevin need to communicate if they want their business to be successful...But we can't control them but thats just my

I'm in the middle here. I know the wife fugged up alot when she wrote that long thread, and I mean alot, but if the husband, the one doing the work, says he can fix it then...
Another reason that im in the middle is, why did the husband let the bike go with shotty work done to it ? Sam, you have a heck of a decision to make.

He's off to work - not going to be home like he thought he was. I'm sure he'll give his opinion when he gets home.

Hmm IMHO it seems that the wife who runs the business is not on the same page as the husband who does the work. We have one who wants to brag about what they have done and who they have done it for and the husband who it seems wants to do the right thing and fix the bike.

My take is you can do a paint job for Jay Leno that is flawless and he might show on TV once and never ride it again. AKA... Short term gain.

Then you can do a sh*t job on John Doe's bike that would get you bad press throughout the web world. AKA... LONG term loss world wide web style.

I can say if I was in Sam's shoes I don't know if I would want to have them fix anything. If I choose to have them do anything, I would want them to redo a different set of plastics and send them to me. Then I would send them the set that they messed up. There is no way I would take my bike up there again.

Sam seems to have a better level head then I do. I am not in the loop about this whole thing but I am sure that whatever choice Sam makes will be the right one for him. It might be to far gone at this point to turn back at this point but we will see....

Pulling for ya Sam & Family.......
beerchug.gif

I just got off the fone with BigGeorge. He is supposed to call me back in a few mins.. I am trying to get involved here to help out as much as I can...

I am with runeight, if he wants to make it right with Sam, I personally would not let him try again, just have him replace the shotty work with a complete set of factory colored Plastics and tanks.

I`m with Wolfman and Run-8 ...they wouldn`t get another crack at my bike, i`d be lookin for a new set of plastics and tank. Your bike was so important they let the helper/trainee/Asst or whatever do it?
rock.gif
? and did she say they were opening another business!!! huh... it doe`s look good in the pic though before all the chrome fell off but they should have done the hump and frt fender IMHO.

Sam-i didnt see what was written about the other pieces-if the whole bike is FUBAR, then I'm not sure what to tell you bro...I still say its more worth your while to try and work this out with Kevin, even tho u would trust a homeless crackhead more right now-I feel you bro-just talk to Kevin and mebbe the .org can help out IF things dont pan out, but I think not giving this dude a chance and going any other route to be reconciled will just be fruitless on your end...the longer you fight, the longer YOU go without a bike bro, thats the honest fact of the matter-if he says he can do by right by you, dont believe him for a second Sam-but at least Let Him Try And Prove It...

We both know you been burned, but I think a new paintjob in a mo. or so might make you feel better...at least better than dueling it out with XXX legally-I just dont see that improving your situation at all.
