I tried one time to ride with short and got the worst burn of my life. The engeine was kicking out some serious heat, I was only going to get gas, and it was the worst thing I have ever done. I used to ride in just a T-shirt, but now during the warmer part of the year I wear 661 gear. Actually I wear my 661 gear until its damn cold, just above freezing, then I switch to me icon jacket. I went down on the 405 freeway doing about 65 or 70 before getting side swipped by a car, walked away with only a seperated shoulder. Its never to hot for gear.

As the org has grown, I am seeing more and more people on here making feeble attempts at justifying their decision not to wear gear. Anymore, I have stopped wasting my breath with people I ride with. If you wear gear, great! If you don't, that's your business.

Guilty here of t-shirt, shorts and sneakers. Helmet law in NC so no worries there! I wouldn't wear flip-flops on or off a bike!

I'm trying to get this through my neighboor's head that you have to gear up before riding and shoes aren't good enough, put boots on ! Your ankles will thank you. He's just starting to ride. I'm not saying anything anymore, if he doesn't want to well...

I agree full dress is the way to go. However, Sometimes I just feel like going on a leisurely cruise and skip out on the basics. + there are no helmet laws in Montana "yet" and it can be really nice to get out on the back roads with my honey and just loose the lid. It's really nice till the bugs come out. lol.

Many time in florida ive seen busa riders rolling in flip flops(some have been barefoot), tanktops , shorts and a pair of sunglasses for head protection. Best one i seen is a chick riding a 06le lowered all chromed out in what i belive was a itty bitty bikini, but looked more like a bunch a spagetti strings.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. While riding north on I-15 it began to get a little warm so i slipped off my shoes put them up in the dash for about about thirty miles. I had gloves helmet riding pants t shirt and no shoes!! It was great.
