Dropped it with lowering links and a strap that is. Hehehehehe... Ain't I awful usin' that title?

Anyway, I installed my new dog bones today. Got a set of three holers from TheRotorWoman on eBay. Excellent pieces and her service is top notch! She would fit in perfectly on this board. She's definitely "our kind of people". She does business pretty much like Tom @ Veltune.com. I highly recommend her if she sells something you need! Personally, I liked the ball milling on her bones better than what I've seen on any of the other bones. That's why I gave her a try. You know me... Even though they're pretty much invisible when installed I still want the trick stuff. Just like the BDE PAIR block off plates.

Except for needin' a BIG breaker bar to break the nuts loose to remove the stock links the install went smooth as butter. Was gonna do a step by step with photos but after havin' to fight the bolts so much to get started I was so pissed that I didn't feel like messin' with the camera... until I was done and saw how she looked of course.

In these pics the bones are in the middle hole (1-1/2" drop with these links I think). The front is cinched down with a Scnhitz strap. It's as far down as I could get it by rollin' forward and hittin' the front brakes while tuggin' on the strap end. It's pretty much bottomed out with no play. VERY stiff... Oh, and I'd hate for a fly to hit 'er in the exhaust side. Not near enough lean on the side stand to park anywhere but on level ground or with the side stand on a down grade. Gotta get me one of them purdy adjustable side stands from Tom now.

And now for a few pics... Not the best I've posted but it shows my baby's new attitude... I think it's super extra schweet lookin' this low!!!

I'd hate to have to cross a speed bump though!

Don't she just look all track ready and stuff?

Oh yeah, I done a few hard launches in the driveway after the drop. She blasts out of the hole now and no worries about wheelies. Just feels like I get ass ended by a jet or something. Hoooooooooold oooooooooooooooooon! Can't wait to get 'er to the drag strip! Wooooohoooooooo!!! Come on spring!!!

Before for comparison... (older photo)

I'd say.. hows the ride/handling changed?

I know the "pimp-uh-bility" shot thru the roof already.. haha.. as well as the "bling"

Damn. I have to say train looks much meaner know, looks really good. I have been wanting to lower mines was waiting to install undertail and hugger got that done but money is a little tight right know.

"jet up the ass" 'ed ness..

Just played in the driveway a little. Haven't adjusted the chain or rear suspension to compensate for the drop so I didn't want to do much. All I know right now is that the front suspension might as well be welded bars with the strap all the way down. It's STIFF with no play at all!!! I won't ride on the street with the front that far down. I want a little spring up front. I'm gonna get some risers and drop the front 1" for street ridin' and then strap it for the strip or for hang out cruisin' for that "pimp-uh-bility" factor you mentioned.

Thanks bro. Have you measured to see if you have enough clearance between the undertail and hugger to lower it much? Just curious...

Thanks Mikey. Oh, and sorry about the scare there... Ummm, actually, no I'm not. It's obvious that I done that on purpose isn't it?

No I have not. I think it can be lowered a little,
know you got me thinking.

Yeah, I just remembered seein' a post by someone sellin' a hugger because they couldn't lower much at all with it on the bike. Thought I'd give you a heads up before you got in the middle if the install and hit a wall.

slammed all the way down??? looks low in the back.... lookin great.... I want to slam mine down but I ride double up quit a bit when the g/f wants a ride and I don't need the tire rubbing on the tail

Da' Train looks killer! It looks like a big ole mean train sitting that low. The pipe looks great too! That is the one I ordered, it makes me feel even better about my choice. Nice job!

Nope, that's the middle hole on the bones. There's still a hole left to drop it more. I doubt I ever will, but it's there. I think if I were goin' two up I'd put it in the "stock" height hole in the bones first just to make sure I wouldn't bottom out. I think I'd be ok in the middle hole as long as the rear shock is set stiff enough, but I'd rather be safe...
