Eight Years of Bush: It’s Over at Last

We shall see what this 4 years bring. But at the end of the 4 years if things aren't great the liberal Dems will still blame Bush, wait and see!

If Bush did such an outstanding job, it's likely another Republican would have been elected... Turns out that didn't happen. Oh well. I think the GOP should take this time to evaluate how they do business in ALL branches of Government.

I'm reserving judgment on Obama and his administration. We'll see if we're better off 4 years from now.

Thank You!

At this rate we will be ruined like Zimbabwe soon!

Don't forget that its our governmnent that has kept Mogabi in power turning a blind eye to his terror.

Pine???

Zimbabwe went first, When Rhodesia, it enjoyed more prosperity than it does now. SA is going same direction.

CBX Rider, good job in holding off the Bushies in this strand! And Pine....I would say that the "early years" of South Africa are the terrible ones. Keeping people out of the system because of their skin color and lack of formal education is not a proud heritage, just like that sad aspect of our US history. How that applies to President Obama, I'm not sure. Is this one of those, "if he's half black, then he's all black" racist ideas?
By the way, George W. Bush is not a conservative, he is a neocon. A conservative likes a small asture, efficient government and is promilitary and pro veteran. Bush has 8 years history doing exactly the opposite. He has transferred our country's treasury into corporations and the ultra wealthy and took us into a misrepresented war that cost 4300 of our finest citizens....he is not a veteran, he ran from his military duties. He and his neocons were against the new GI Bill of Rights and I will never forgive those in our Congress that voted against it (including Mccain). Just look up voting records in US Senate.gov. BTW President Obama voted for ALL the vet bills.
I make no apologies for being liberal, I've bit my lip in silence too many times in the past when my viewpoints were being stepped on....no more....I guess I'm getting old and cranky.

Its all very sad!
You would think that they would want to maintain the prosperity but no its stealing, corruption, lying, denying, blaming others and eventual utter ruin!

Zimbabwe was a great country, good economy, produced its own food, safe, happy and nice people, well educated, until Mugabi went nuts.

It now has the highest inflation in the world, Z$30 million can hardly buy a bread. The shops are empty, its people are starving, dying of cholera and persecuted by Mogabi.

Mogabi lost the election 2 years ago but stll clings to power.
A real dictaror and a tyrant blamimg America and England for Zimbabwe's ills!:poke:

I rest my case???

I agree with you that our previous racist history was regretable. But in reality Amerca and SA fought England for their freedom with a great loss of life.

Now it seems that both countries are giving up their freedom to others.

I also agree that as an after thought Bush should have stayed out of Iraq as he has caused more harm than good. But remember you guys (the majority) supported him when he went in. (Even voted him in for a 2nd term) Its only after it got ugly that you guys wanted to get out.

Now you have a problem. Its easy to kiss Iraq goodbye but what chaos and government are you going to leave behind?

Remember Vietnam that was left to the dogs and Kissingers lies! Millions of people was killed afterwards when the communists took over.

Is America going to do the same again?

I am afraid that America is to blame for Iraq and not Bush. He was simply the president elect and had.... the majority support of his people until it went sour. If he won the conflict he would have been a great hero???

What is now needed is a cool head and combined effort to fix the mess.

In reality there has been great leaders of colour and for the sake of all I hope Obama is one of those. If not you are going to be in a worse situation in 4 years time than what you are in now.

Make no error even as a SA I have a great love and admiration for America and can only pray that you guys work it out:thumbsup:

When I think of the 4300 fine and brave American young men that was killed for a lost cause I can cry (Also getting old). How does their mom and dad feel about it all?

With three of my own I would be devastated:please:

I wish you well???

Robert, you and I are riding buddies, I respond to your statements with the belief that real men know how to disagree yet still have a good relationship.

We, as adults, come to our points of view and personal values after our earlier experiences in life. I have fought for my Country both as a Marine in Vietnam and a policeman in Los Angeles, including the Iranian "student" riots in Beverly Hills in the "70s. I am not a "right wing liberal", there is no such thing. I am an educated war vet, really involved in my Country, that has witnessed the following:

**** Cheney creating an energy task force for the USA(oil company execs) that was kept secret from we the citizens.
President Bush and Condileza Rice (National Security Advisor at the time) ignoring at least 3 PDB's (pres daily briefings) advising "Bin Laden determined to strike in US....hijack a US airplane, etc."
Absolute cluster of Hurricane Katrina (I was there and participated in rescues and life saving)...thank goodness us trained civilians gave a month of our lives.....the Feds under Brownie and Bush were sure a no show.
We let the real global terrorist escape at Tora Bora (Bin Ladin)...listen to the testimony of the forward observer Recon soldier that says he came within 300 yds. of "the cave" but was told to stand down.
4229 KIA 30960 WIA in the Iraq war, over 1 million "collateral damage" Iraqi citizens dead (including little kids, old people). Was it worth it? Why?
Wiretapping/eavesdropping of ALL US citizens (read yesterday's news on that story by a whistleblower)
Suspension of Habeous Corpus

I'll stop now...as strongly as I feel about all this, it is my responsibility as a US citizen to give citizens with differing viewpoints respect and equal berthing. This is not tit for tat, no name calling....just my take on how the country has been run for the last 8 years......does that make me a liberal? I don't care what the label is...I just know where I stand on these historical events. Your friend, Doyle

Personally, I wish CAP would ban these threads like we do over at Extremebusa.com. All this seems to do is make tension between us here. I know, I am guilty of getting on here and spouting off my political opinion, but I believe I am halting that as of today. I would rather focus on building friendships and talking about bikes!

Just my 2-cents.

P.

Peace! :beerchug:

Amen brother!

I'm so tired of hearing about politics but I can't help but check into these threads to see how people can get so angry for no reason. Getting frustrated on here by trying to put your opinions on everyone else is pointless.

White, Black, Brown, Yellow...I'm so sick of hearing about race. Why does race always have to come into it??? I judge a man by his character and nothing else. I have a mexican brother in law, a half mexican nephew, a black step mom, and a half black brother. I've seen people in these families who "live up to stereotypes" but I've also seen these same families be comprised of people who were willing to talk with me regardless of my skin color. I also have people in my "white" side of the family who are scum. I'm tired of hearing "we were oppressed for hundreds of years by you whites". NO YOU WEREN'T!! I've never owned a slave or oppressed ANYONE! Whatever...I can go on and on but I won't. Like I said, I give everyone I talk to an equal chance and I judge a person by his/her character, and thats it.

Regardless of who I voted for...I hope Obama can do what he promises for the sake of EVERYONE! Can everyone just drop the racism thing already?:please:

My Father was the ONLY Hispanic Supervisor for Tiechert Construction in 1960 !!!!!!!
He taught me My Work Ethic !!!!!!!!!! My Uncle is a Multi Milionare and could Barely Read or wright. !!!!!!!! If You REALLY WANT SOMETHING out of life you can get it through Hard Work, A little Common Sense, and Determination.............But Whatever it is DON'T GIVE UP and Stop Blaming Other People for your Lack of Accomplishment's !!!!!!!!!

Now on that Note these Political Threads do Need to Stop I Agree...........

Look Forward to seeing you Doyle Ride off with Robb in the Near Future as I could Not Dream of keeping up with you GUYS !!!!!!!!!!

Gotta Love the ORG :super:

Your Friend Robert !!!!!!!!

As far as the political threads being banned. It is really simple, just do not participate in them.

Use some self control and do not go into any political thread. If people do not participate in them they will die rather quickly.

kind of funny how some of the posts in here mention taking responsabilty for ones own actions, yet you guys want the board to ban political threads?

Wanting the board to ban political threads is the same as wanting our government to do things for you instead of taking action yourself.

As I said, anyone who does not like the politcial threads, dont participate in them.
