Equal time for the ladies

Weird how that looks a little like Gunny...
Figured most would only know him from his Blue Power Ranger get-up...

Did you forget who you were dealing with?

I've always wondered - how do you get started in bobsled?  Did you grow up near a track, or is it a winter extension of track + field?
It helps to have an athletic background in track or football...or any explosive type of sport. I grew up in Atlanta, GA and we barely got snow there. I got started thru track and field. I went to a recruitment camp for skeleton sliding. Then got into bobsledding from that. Are you interested in competing?
no, I was just curious; the question usually comes up every winter olympics, since the sport is so facility-specific as opposed to skiing where you just need a groomed mountain. Considering the time it takes to get to Olympic competition level for any sport, it would seem to require a heightened amount of dedication for something like bobsled/skeleton/luge.

Good on ya + good luck! You meet all kinds of people on here...

+1 Pretty cool to have you here...

Plus, anyone who's crazy enough to go down a ice track headfirst (skeleton) is more than qualified to ride a Busa.

Skeleton is one thing that I'd love to try once. The rush would be worth the ice burns.

a kevlar burn suit is your best friend. I have 2 quarter size burns on my upper left shoulder area...the same shoulder that I have separated 3 times in 3 years...

Christmas at the Wisconsin Dells. Way too many beers. But sober enough to know the closer to the camera the better. Trick I learned fishing......
