Fairing Screens??

I am gonna do up my Gixxer 750.  As you all know I did it on my busa so should be pretty straight forward for me.  But this should be interesting as I want them in black.   I am gonna have to shape and prefit then paint them with VHT high temp paint.  Should be "tiiigggghhhhhttttt".

I have an "02 LE. Did the fairing screen mod yesterday. I bought "plain" screens from ClarkCustoms on Ebay pre-formed. Painted them with gloss black engine paint. Glued them with GOOP.
LOOKS EXCELLENT!

I used yellow heat paint then cut and installed, it was simple . And gutter screen is the same stuff you will find in the hot rod shop . (except cheaper) and enough to do three bikes) . My buddy has had his on two yeas now.

I bought mine from ClarkCustom too, but mine are chrome. I hope to recieve them anyday now.

Did they go on easily.

I think I paid way too much, but if the installation is easy I guess I wont' complain too bad!

YOU CAN BUY THE "SCREENS" (APC) HAS CHROME, BLUE, AND RED @ ANY AUTO PART STORE i.e. PEP BOYS ECETERA. USE SILICONE, TIN SNIPS, AND USE YOUR THUMBS TO SHAPE IT. TAKE YOUR TIME IT IS EASY.

You Guys just totally rock. Great Ideal, Great Looks and great advice. I am so glad I found this site.

You help me decide to go with the black screen for my 04 LE. Once I Git-R-Done I will post. And if a Red Neck can do it everybody else on this site will feel more comfortable about attempting.

Looks good, TKM, but you may want to put a little more shape on them. Not much really and you can still do it even though they are in place.

I used a little bit of hot glue just hold them in place and then used High temp silcon to finish it off had no mess and no problem. Did the same thing bought gutter screen and got it painted black.

i just finished my screens. i was lazy and go the premolded ones from ebay for 39 bucks great fit and showed up 2 days after i bough them. 5 min epoxy and bamn done in 2 hours

ok, mines installed. and i didnt have any extra parts left over! woohoo! but i do think i put 2 screws in the wrong place. the 2 screws im talking about are hex (like all of them) but they have a real small/thin washer that came off with them. i SO forgot where those went. i think they went by the mirrors, but i put them on the bottom of the bike that hold up the "wing" part. but besides that, it came out great. that 5 min epoxy was crap from me though. well, 1st tube *yes..1st* everything was good in 5 mins. i stopped *started late at night* and next morning, the rest of the tube was hard, so i got a 2nd tube. 2nd tube wouldnt told worth a ####. i emptied a whole tube on the left side fairings and after 6 hrs.. it was still gummy (like jello).. so i just used ALOT of the RTV gasket maker stuff.
