Fastest/quickest STOCK motor with boost?

It's a pretty big street car event 1320 videos usually comes down for the weekend and films. We had a motorcycle class like 10 years ago but I poop on everything so hard that they banned bikes so I never went back to it and bikes are still not allowed lol
Ahhh ok. Luckily around here we have a ton of sanctioning bodies for motorcycle racing. Plus I live an hour and fifteen minutes from two tracks.

Yes I run a flat slick. Tracks around here at the best with prep so it insurance that I will make good passes. I’m not running a boost controller or stand alone so I have to make sure all the power makes it to the track.
Ya I'm not opposed to a flat slick for the same reasons. Our track is decent but it's very hot and miss. Do you change gearing up for a flat slick? Does that tire grow as you are going down the track?

Ya having multiple tracks around is nice. My track is about 20 minutes from my house but the next closest one is about 4 hours away and that's a sketchy place lol no way I'd even make a full 8th mile hit there it's that's sketchy

I feel you on sketchy tracks, the 8th I just went to had a short shutdown. Heck I am nowhere near trapping what you guys do and I had to cross the line and hit the brake hard.

I gear it different then a hookup or street tire. It probably grows but I don’t think it does that much. I would like to stick a GoPro on the arm and record what the tire looks like. Mickey Thompson is the only slick to run.

Just judging by how much it wrinkles off the like I'd assume it grows a bit but not sure if it would grow enough to make a significant difference.

I've always wondered how much tire growth(height) effects launch and et's, as the taller tire makes the gearing taller.
Probably more of something to figure in to a top-fuel dragster instead of a bike, but I bet someone has a formula.
I'm just curious and like reading the Drag threads.
I've done my share of car n bike drag racing, street and track, but nothing serious.
I like seeing how quick the serious guys can go.

I recall watching the top fuel dragsters on TV do their burn out and their tires sure went thin and tall....

In 2008 I took my 06 ZX-14 to a dragstrip. I had a flat slick on it. About 3/4 down the track the bike stopped pulling. It was like I had the back brake on. I was running 9.8 - 9.9. A couple of guys running 8's with a turbo Busa were trying to help me figure out what was wrong. I didn't figure it out until the next day when I got home and took the back wheel off.

With the slick, I had also put a bigger sprocket on the back while using the stock chain. There was about 1/2 inch clearance between the tire and the front of the swingarm, which I thought was ok (what a dummy). I looked at the front of the swingarm and saw some black paint worn off. Well, as the bike was accelerating, the tire was ballooning up and rubbing on the swingarm. That's why it stopped pulling.

I put a longer chain on the bike and made sure there was enough clearance. The next time I went to the track it pulled hard all the way and I ran 9.2's. Quite a difference.

I can't say I'm young and dumb for letting that happen because I'm not young. Let's just say I'm old and dumb.

How much clearance after lengthening the chain did you give it?
