First post wasn't suppossed to go like this...

hey Monty. i hope you are getting the fast one. which it's the blue & silver. caused all the other colors are slow. the black ones are slow. silver & gray are slow. even i heard that green one is really slow.

Well I am 26 with a clean record and I pay just over 1000 a year full coverage through Nationwide. Called a bunch of companies up and they were by far the cheapest.

You know, I looked into that....did some research and found the Silver/Grey......definately the fastest color....wouldn't have it any other way......lol

Welcome & sorry about the mix-up. My problem was the larger
agencies wouldn't insure the Busa without insuring the auto as
well. Major headache lasting 2-3 days requiring rushed trips from
Mytle Beach to Wilmington. I would definitely try another agent
not mentioning the wifey, especially if they're only insuring the
Busa. Problem would be or course if they want to insure all
vehicles, then you're screwed. Good luck and remember patience
is a virtue.

Oh yeah, the silver & grey is the fastest don't let anyone tell
ya different. God bless.

Hey BigDawg,

Thanks for the kind words. This has definately been a true test of my patience.  I've been waiting a long time for a busa...done a lot of riding and learning in the last few years in preparation for this.

It's hard to get this close and yet be so far.  Don't think we can handle a $1,000 a year on the insurance....just not enough cash and too much student loan debt. But I'll give her another go tomorrow and see where I get. I've got plenty to be thankful for, and this won't be the end of the world....I'll just have to take my wife's car away from her.....lol.

Thanks again,
Monty

Got a call from State Farm this morning and they are writing the policy!!!  I have to sign a waiver stating that my wife will never pilot the bike (like that would be the case EVER) and if she does and crashes the policy is not valid....

I've confirmed pick up for Thursday morning, and she's all mine baby!

Congrats Monty! Glad State Farm came through...I'm gathering all of my insurance info to see if SF can help me with my rates too...

Good luck getting the busa...now your next posts should be with pics!!!

I am here in CO and I have Liberty Mutual. No surcharge for performance, you just have to have a good record...

$400 a year....

Excellent!!!
State Farm came through for me too. I originally had Farm Bureau and after getting TWO quotes to make sure the price was going to be $525 a year I paid them in full on the spot and bought the bike.
1 week later they jacked the price up to $788, demanding the extra $263 immediately. The extra $$$ wouldn't have killed me, however it's a kick in the head when you've already purchased the vehicle and paid for the insurance in full.

Got into a big blow out argument with my agent who I think is an alcoholic or at the very least severely brain damaged.
Cancelled all my policies and went one block over to State Farm.
Guess it was a blessing in disguise...
300/300/100 with $1000 deductible is costing me $349 a year! Also put one of my cars with them and added my house policy too which saved me yet another $100 a year.

Held my breath for a week and Saturday all my cards and paperwork arrived. Not only did they NOT ask for more money they sent me a check for $17.00 because they found some other discount

So what color are you getting?

The scary fast and beautiful Blue/Silver?

The reasonably quick but not as fast Black/Purple?

Or the SE (Strawberry Shortcake Edition)

Someone from another country emailed me pictures of his Blue/Black Busa. Glad the Blue/Black wasn't available in the states, the decision to choose that or the Blue/Silver would have been long, drawn out and painful

Congrats and welcome bro. I have State Farm down here in the Springs too and they did me good. We'll all have to get together for a ride sometime soon now that I'm back.

Congrats, Monty! Glad to hear everything worked out and I'm sure you can't wait to pick up the bike! Make sure to get a photo when you are at the dealer and about to take off the first time!
