First Service on my 08

I decided to do the first service on the Bus myself and get to know her more intimately. Going to pick up the Zook oil and filter at my dealer and the DB wind screen if they have it in stock. Other than oil. I will clean, adjust and lube the chain and adjust throttle slack again.
Check a few fasteners along the way.
Anything else I should look out for?

Any grease Zerk's on the swing arm or anything?

I will use the power point presentation found here to get the Tupperware off

How about the oil filter wrench, is the a dealer only item or cheaper at a part house item?
Also whats the torque spec on the drain plug and do you have to replace crush washers?
Thanks for any tips

Also while Doing the service Lubricate all you Pivot points as well check and adjust throttle cables, Check your spark plugs, check for any loose hose connections and tighten any that you think that may need a little tweak. As for the crush washer go ahead and get a new one and install it. As for torque on the drain Plug not sure what it is but I always tighten mine down till it hand tight then give her a 1/4 turn to snug it up. But if you put the new crush washer on her then Snug her down and tighten until you feel the crush washer Crush then it should be good to go.

You'll find the plastic a ***** to remove on your first time. Just be very gentle so you don't break any tabs.

Torque on the drain plug is 16.5 ft lbs. on the old busa and I'm sure it didn't change on the new one. I have never changed a compression washer on the oil plug but that's not saying it's not a good idea.

Your Busa technical manual will have a Periodic Maintenance Chart that will list all service intervals as well as items. If you don't have that manual and you intend to do your own maintenance, I'd suggest buying one from your dealer.

If you don't have the maintenance schedule page, if you have a fax, I'll fax it to you.

I don't have the service manual and don't plan on doing any heavy maintenance like valve checks in the future. I have the owner manual of course with the maint chart in it. I planned on letting the dealer handle the heavy stuff but figured the oil changes and removing rims for tire changes off the bike in the future would be good. I can do the easy stuff without having someone charge $80.00 and hour or more to do and I know its done correctly and the bike not damaged in the process.

Is there a grease fitting on the swing arm to lube?

If that maint schedule you have is more than whats in the owners manual I will pm ya a fax number. Let me know.
