Fl. Law

Loss of bike for a week to a month maybe. But 10 year prohibited driving is too much. Must be getting to be too many nuts on two wheels done there for them to have to do this.

Isn't a burnout considered a "stunt". So they can snatch my bike for that?

I never ran before, but I'll surely start if this is passed. If you want it, you're gonna have to work for it!

Why aren't these laws passed on those POS Fast & Furious wannabe Honda Civics I see racing every night on the highway?

They can't single out motorcycles....cars drive wrecklessly also.

I predict

that once it goes to Court (with a GOOD ATTORNEY

) it will be thrown out for not defining

 stunting of all road vehicles

...is leaving a parking lot in a car and spinning the tires ..."stunting"?

This should be ruled unconstitutional. There's mayhem on FL's highways everyday with loss of life, but I'm sure no automobiles are getting confiscated from the wrecks that happen due to shear stupidity.

before anyone pulls a negative slant on this, I think you must take into consideration the "cowboy" tactics of these "stunters" talent or not...

they endanger a lot of drivers by blocking highways etc to play their silly games.. by sheer numbers, I bet they figure they will not get caught and for the most part they are right... I think the idea behind a tough law is to make the possibility of being the fall guy so bad that it is not worth it...

I think it is aptly put "Cant do the time? dont do the crime"

It is "reactive" legislation but what else can they do to stop the kids on their bikes?

Pull up on a single crash where a big truck ran up the back side of a four wheeler stopped for something like this and I think you will understand my take on it..

Its probably all BS to appease the blue hairs or q tips. Seems like discrimination to me.

There have been over 3K deaths on FL roads in each of the last 5 years. About 165 traffic related deaths the next county up from me.

You need to stay alert riding in FL.

It's probably discriminatory but make note, folks. People doing stunting on their bikes in the cities are going to cost you your ability to ride someday. It's happening. Exert peer pressure on people when you can.

As for speeding, at least do it where there are no cagers or other people who can get hurt. We've all done it and we'll all do it again. Just take your sensibilities out there with you and keep it on the low-down.

You hit the nail on the head perfectly with this statement Wag. Couldn't have said it better.

News flash......this bill didn't pass three days ago

Through my HD riding ABATE contacts at work?...i knew a couple months ago (when everyone was up in arms regarding this sugested bill)..that it wasn't going to pass...as ABATE was in direct contact with FL Gov. Charlie Crist regarding this unconstitutional "profiling" of motorcyclist...and even Gov. Crist agreed....it was a BS bill and would never pass.

i know of many stunters...and for the most part?...the vast majority use "Un-Used" backwoods roads such as developed land where the housing projects never came about to practice their gigs...several of whom practice and perform professionally for stuntwars and stunt shows/demo's during the Daytona Bikeweek/Biketoberfest events.

don't get me wrong...i'm not a huge fan of stunting...in fact?...not at all....and you always do have a percentage of azzwipes that'll do the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time but...no call to stereotype, profile and punish the masses over such.

JMHO (from a busa bro that lives in south floriduh) & L8R, Bill.

I think you're absolutely right Bill. No need to punish the masses. But we should definitely take a moment to discuss how this lopsided bill got as far as it did. What was the reason? We're all going to end up suffering for the actions of the few....there will be laws passed.
As I said in my earlier post, Wag got it exactly right.

as soon as the next family gets splattered on the road due to one of these highway circus acts, it will take more than ABATE (our favorite motorcycle safety org...yea right) to stop legislation..

Money and votes are what drive laws, as soon as John Q. Public decides they have had enough of motorcycle idiots....

Hey Jinks, if this bill passes, you may just as well take your busa down to the local police station and drop it off. You'll keep your license?
