Flash if keeping everything stock?

Hello gang.. picking up new 2024 tomorrow. Super Stoked. Been riding hyper liter bikes for a long time.. so the Busa will be a little different for me.

Question.. I’m contemplating whether to get a full exhaust system (primarily for weight savings), or just leave stock and enjoy it. But that also has me wondering… Has anyone had their Gen 3 flashed (eg Moore Mafia) while keeping everything else stock? Are the results worth it? I have watched MANY ECU flash videos, but all of them have full systems as well.

Other bikes (like the latest Gen BMW S1000RR) are VERY restricted from the factory, and benefit greatly from just a tune. So I am wondering if the new Gen 3 is similar.

Thank you.

Welcome! The gang will be along shortly, so just my $.02. Like other things there will be debate about the flashing. Depends on what you are looking for. If it's more hp or torque, probably nothing. Will it likely smooth the fuel delivery, probably.

Thanks fellas! I sorta figured. And Yeah, the weight savings(30+ lbs) of a full exhaust is significant. FAAAAAAK! Looks like a full system is in my future. :)

Aftermarket exhaust doesn't radiate as much heat either, and what heat does is at a lower temperature, as the Gen2 and Gen3 have catalytic converters on the end of the headers, and the Gen3 has a small one in each muffler as well.
Carbon fiber mufflers also put the majority of the heat out of the tail-pipe, and you can grab the carbon fiber muffler itself bare handed with the bike running, and even hold it for several seconds, which is another often overlooked advantage, it's not just great weight loss, which as said, is worth it alone, and a few extra hp and a smoother power curve never hurts either.

If everything else is kept 100% stock, it depends who you trust most. The factory in Japan, who designed, developed, tested and made the bike. Or your tuner.

Me personally, only if I attempt to tweak it myself, won't let anyone else play. But no need, it is perfect for me, just the way it is.

I agree......

Personally if I were to keep a bike 100% stock, I'd just leave it alone...

Only f I started modifying would I get it flashed after I decided what direction I wanted to take it.

My bike has all the usual mods and an ECU flash....I rode it for a short time with no flash when my Bazzaz crapped out and I can tell you, there is a big difference in the bike after the flash.

I guess I am getting old, crashed on the track at 142mph in 2014, stopped racing, roads here are narrow, lots of deer.
I don't think I have ever had mine full throttle to the red line in 1st or 2nd. Normally go to 3rd, twist it and hold on.
I really would not notice the difference.

I don't rip on mine very often.....but I noticed a very big difference in my bike after the flash.

Unless you did the modifications and flash, you don't know if you'd notice a difference or not.

I have recently installed PAIR VALVE BLOCK PLATES and removed the entire EVAP system from 2019 GEN2 busa.Do you guys think that I should go for a flash or the bike's ECU will compensate for such small changes and no damage will be done to engine.

Any guidance and suggestions willl be truly helpful.
Thanks.

It won't need a flash after doing that.....

I take it all the other usual mods are already done (pipe, filter, etc).
