Guys, guys ... oops, better make that "fellow boardmembers" ... onoooooooooo ... "fellow" sounds sort of male doesn't it????
Sorry for that ... drifting off there.
As for all these rumours about restricted Busa's or ZX12's ... forget it!
Just in case some of you hadn't picked this up from all the ZX12 test info that was available up till now, the ZX12's gearing is simply not as optimal for consistently reaching around the same high top-speed as the Busa.
There has now finally been a well-documented case where a completely stock Busa and ZX12 where tested under the same conditions and this time the conditions made it possible for the ZX12 to eeeeeeeeeeeeek out just under 2mph MORE than the Busa!
German Motorrad mag had their SportTourers (???) test with Busa and ZX12 included and topspeeds where 300 and 303 km/h respectively (that's 186.4 and 188.3 mph for most of you) and this particular ZX12 was one bought directly from a dealer by them and not one of the special batch of test-bikes from Kaw that supposedly had the too short break-in.
Oh, just for reference, the Blackbird won their test, with Busa 2nd and ZX12 3rd but of course the emphasis was on sporttouring.
