freakin' morons...

Way to keep your head, Rev !!

When I was younger I use to take it personal when getting cut off, now I try to just let it go. Last week I was riding in the left lane (2 lanes each way), speed limit 55, I was doing around 60-65. Just as I'm coming up on this car, it jerks over into my lane. As I'm getting on the brakes I swerve into the lane "she" was in. About 20 seconds later we hit a light, right next to each other. I look over at her, and shake mt head, and "she" starts yelling, "I'm sick of all these bikes passing me"! I almost lost it !!
guess she should drive faster then

so i'm hangin' out at the local beach enjoying my stogie... i hear two bikes come into the parking lot but they just cruise through [two race bikes]. i turned and saw the second one since they passed right behind where i was parked, a young kid on a 600 i think. so they just pass through. a short while later two cop cars pull up and ask me how long i've been there, i tell them about an hour. they ask if i've seen any bikes come through, and i tell them two kids on bikes passed through and one car says to the other "yeah thats them, they probably went to the back". the patrol cars leave the lot heading to the pier. the kids are trapped 'cause there's no way out. obviously they were racing on the streets.

so i decide to leave. now as anyone who has ridden with me knows i am a conservative rider. i know the back roads from my house to the beach, about a 5 minute ride. i'm cruising back home through this nice twisty road with a speed limit of 20mph, i'm going 25. i'm coming up on a turn where i know there's a stop sign which feeds right into the turn. the speed limit for the turn is 15mph so i bring it down to 20..25 TOPS if that...i see a lawn company truck with a trailer cruise up to the stop sign, make eye contact with me and RUN THE STOP SIGN! now keep in mind i know the road, and was aware that this might happen. when i saw the truck i thought to myself "this guy might not stop"... preparing for that i had slowed down just enough [ sarcasm: a big 5-10mph ] to avoid being run into the side of the road. in all reality those 5-10 saved me and my bike.

i catch up to these guys and get in front of them, stop my bike, almost put the kick stand down when i remember the cops i saw in the area and decide to go down port for coffee instead of jail.

freakin morons. be careful all.
Don't take it personally, they probably treat everybody that way.

If you go around spreading enough bad Karma it eventually comes back to you.  So take solice in the idea that they will eventually get what they have been giving.

Had to blow my horn at a lady the other day as she slowly drifted into my lane while putting on her eye liner. My Stebel air horn got her attention though, I think she drew on half of her face.

I've seen that way too many times. The worst one was when I stopped at this 4 way stop. Had my left foot down already for about 3 seconds. This car coming from the opposite direction didn't stop as I was making a left turn. I had to stop in the middle of the intersection so I don't get hit. I can see the wife say something to the guy. I just shook my head. Another one was when I was stopped already. As I was moving forward, this soccer Mom coming from my right side didn't stop. I'm talking about didn't even slow down. Again, I had to stop moving so I don't get ran over. The lesson, never assume you have the right of way. It can get you killed.

Earlier this summer I had a guy in a mini van with his wife and kids actually try and cause me to wreck. I was behind him in the left lane and he decicded to slow down 15 miles under the speed limit. So I went to the right and he sped up and tried to merge into my lane. I hit the brakes and served back into the left lane. My left had turn was coming up anyway. He then went in the left hand lane in front of me. My left hand turn was less then 500 feet away so I just sat behind him. The whole time I could see him looking in the mirror watching me. I quickly went to the left turning lane and passed him. He was in the lane next to me a car back. WHen I got the arrow to turn left he quickly got in my lane and turned with me. he started tail gateing me so I pulled over and started to stop. He slowed down but quickly change his mind and took off. I couldn't believe he was doing this with his wife and kids in the van..As he passed me while I was stopped I flipped him the bird..

With encounters like this, especially if you can read and memorize their plate number along with vehicle description:

1. Safely seperate yourself from the idiot cager. Be it by just back off and slowing down if possible or blowing past/and away from them and staying on it until your gone. I don't care if it's a church bus. You have NO idea who is behind that wheel and what their mindset is. Could be a road rager venting, a diabetic having a episode, or a armed theif doing whatever they want in a stolen vehicle.

2. Pull over (once again assuring your safe from the said vehicle) and call 911 and report the SOB in question as a DUI. Your not lying or making a false report. Wether they're drunk, angry, distracted, or just plain stupid they almost caused you to wreck and probably almost piled into someone else. Give the plate number and vehicle make or discription and direction, road they were heading on.

Fuel prices are hitting police dept's hard too and while they do patrol still, some depts (in my area atleast) are having their officers park for so long every hour of their shift to conserve fuel. Of course if they get a call they respond. And a DUI with plate number and vehicle ID is something that can potentially bring in some money for the state even though cops HATE DUI calls. All the worse for the cager if the police catch them.

Either way you'll ruin the idiot cagers day alot better then risking your hide just to pull over and flip them off, get into a fistfight or worse, gunfight. That's providing they stop without shooting or attempting to hit you and the bike. There's alot of bad or worse that can happen in such a scenerio as opposed to just making like Ghost Rider and ditching their tin box like yesterday's garbage. And if they are dumb enough to try and chase, which I have had happen a few times, that's their accident that's gonna happen when they try to keep up with a well rode sportbike on the road especially if there's traffic to leave them in.
