friendly 1000 vs busa street race.

dunno, i ran my buddy on his piped and tuned gixxer 1k and i smoked him on my stock 06. badly.

hey i know it's going to come down to our launches. but other than that, he's 270+ (i'm 210), i got the height, length, full ti pipe + pc, and cc's. so it'll be interesting to see. at first i didn't equate wheelies w/ being good @ launching, but i could be dead wrong. if ya'll knew how cocky this guy is you'd be rooting for me.. it'll be in a week or two, but will post video if it's not too shameful (tome!)

I am rooting for you, I always want an cheer for the Busa to win no matter what or who it's racing against.

a 270lb stunter...???

Bring it to the track so you guys can run against a tree and get better grip than on the street. With some practice you should be able to take him. As things stand he may have much better throttle and clutch control which can win a race off the line. Seeing it's 1/8 mile it's not like you've got much room to run him down... Good luck though.

It aint the bike that gonna win or lose this match up , He said the guy could out ride him, and he cant launch. If this cat pulls ah hole shot and 60fts him theres no way he gonna reel him back in in the 1/8. take him out on the intersate and wack his azz!

Yep:beerchug:

i know, it's crazy when you see someone big you just assume they can't ride then they surprise the heck outta you when they're going 70 down the freeway and lift it up and just ride it.

another guy i worked with is even bigger, like 6'5 and 300+ lbs, and i've always heard him say he can wheelie ANYTHING, but didn't pay too much attention to it till i saw him on a kawasaki imitation goldwing, he lifted the front end up and rode it all the way out of the neighborhood, even over the speedbumps, and in shorts and flipflops! i mean, this kaw goldwing had a ridiculously long wheelbase. and he had the front end way up in the air.

Does your friend stunt the 1000 your racing? If he does it is probably geared down considerably. With a stock wheel base i'm sure it would be a awesome stunt bike, but he will have a extremely hard time keeping the nose down while you have your wrist twisted to the max. My guess is the win goes to you.

went to the 1/8mile track tonight for the 1st time in my life. met tex_garza from the forums out there. hats off to all the helpful folk on the track. i wouldn't have accomplished anything without their being there on the line with me walking me thru it.

after 5 passes, 1.87 60ft and 6.82 1/8 @ 110mph. i know that ain't good, but i accomplished my main goal of not dropping my brand new bike. this was with a ****tty stock rear tire that slipped the whole night. shinko 3 in the near near future.

btw: can someone tell me what i probably would of ran in the 1/4?? would the above numbers get me into low low 10's??

if your bikes hauling the mail like it should, you can figure about 28-30 mph more in the 1/4 So i"d guess low 10s are about right

Put 15#s in your tire. Loosen your suspension so the rear can squat when taking off. Track is usually opposite due to vht . Heat your tire a little3-4 sec burnout. Comeout of hole at a lower rpm 3k maybe get the clutch out fazirly quick and just let the motor pull you up instead of trying to ride the clutch like you would at a dragstrip. Look at this video at 35 seconds. This is me on my old zx14. be sortof like this but lower rpm on the street to try to keep from spinning. You need to find this rd you'll race on and practice upteen times without him knowing so when you do this you already know the drill and what the bike will act like on this pavement. He's 270+ ?? You come out anywhere near him and you'll leave him behind pretty easily. I got faith in you. And if you dont get him I'll have to make a trip

went out a 2nd time. i know the 330's are bad. i go up to the line everytime thinking, make sure you're wot once the light is green, but i'm probably not doing it. i got there late, i was hoping to get there @ 7 so i could run through there 10 times quickly working on just 60s & 330's, but i didn't, so i was stuck in the crowd waiting.

i'm ready enough not to get smoked. like somebody said, they don't see stock height 1000 running high 9's, so.. will let you know.

You being stretched is going to help alot, Not going to have to worry about that front end coming up. But you do need to get that tire on there so you dont break loose and loose traction.

Curious as to why 1/8 mile, Those 1000s are probably every bit as fast as our Busa's in the 1/8th

orig reason was so that we wouldn't be flying down a public rd @ 150+ mph. i know racing even an 1/8th on the street isn't the smartest, but still. yeah, i'm starting to think we might just tell him 1/4 anyways. but if we take it to the track, it'll be 1/8th just because the 1/4 requires a ton of safety items that we don't have/.

Beat his :moon: and then just walk away!!

Good Luck. keep us posted. My cousin just got a 1000 and is already talking smack. Looks like I might have to reach back like a pimp and slap a ho!!!:rofl::rofl:

you are better off making it a 1/4 mile run and not 1/8th the 1000 will stomp you in the first 300 feet and take the air out of your sails...youll need road to catch him back up and pass

If you see a relatively stock looking new BMW 1K be very careful.

x2 i dont see a stock height, stock wheelbase 1k running with a lowered and stretched busa. i dont think any 1k has posted sub 10.0 times without at least being lowered?

i see them do it every week at the drag strip and the new bmw has hit 8.98 in the quarter...wich is faster then almost everyone on a stock gen 2

i agree with most here, you're gonna have problems with winning against a stunter in the 8th. you will need the 1/4 to catch up. i hope you stomp a mud hole in his arse. practice practice practice. if you spin bad out of the hole you will probably be toast.

god speed
