Fuel in the crankcase? (Not \'Busa)

Had someone contact me with a 92 GSX-R750 model that has been sitting garaged for a few years. Owner was polishing the fame, etc after a lowside and replaced the body panels and it's now in mint condition. Bike runs like a top, but when the oil was drained last night, it had a lot of gasoline in it. The bike hasn't been smoking, and this was fresh oil put in just a few days ago. Anyone have a clue how the fuel is getting in?

Any insight is welcome.

your floats in the carbs have crap between them and thier seats.this allows the fuel to reach a level thats too high.this extra fuel overflows into the airbox and sometumes the cyl.then into the crankcase.you need a carb clean.be sure not to leave the bike on prime when storing or you'll end up with the same type of problem with fuel in the oil.

Motor is correct. Do not leave the petcock in the prime position for extended time periods. Also check to make sure the petcock is NOT flowing in the on/res positions when the engine is NOT running. It is a vacuum petcock which pumps fuel in on/res only when the engine is running. Prime is intended for when you run out of fuel and need to "prime" the system.

Anyone with a modified "R", or running juice will benefit greatly by switching to a Pingel petcock.
