fuel problem

so my bikes been sitting for a few yrs...bought it as a fixer upper...narrowed the problem down to fuel pump...its not making the whinin sound when turning on....moneys tight,i dont have a job at the monent unfortunately and the pump cost 600 ...but i found one for 80 bucks but it says it fits 80 and 09...so my question is will this one fit my 06 and work properly?

Try draining the tank and pulling the fuel pump completely out. Hook up the power plug back to it, turn the key and see what it does. If it seems like it is trying, I would suggest soaking it in seafoam for a couple of days.

Oh yeah, I sent it to him and he had it back to me in less than a week. Nice nice guy too.

He cleans it all and modifies the regulator and it just fits back like a stock one. The Walbor is a little noisier than stock and he offers a Bosch conversion that costs about $120 more. I went with the Walbro.

that sounds real good...will deff look into it this week...i wanna make sure its the actual fuel pump and not a short somewhere before i buy/repair this one..thx bro appreciate it
