What method did you use to etch with the muratic acid?

I've have poured it and then spread it but that method doesn't seem to cover as evenly as it could on a base that is in rough shape.

Did you spray it on, pour it and use a floor brush to spread it out, or other means?

Its the dump and pour and push it around with a broom method. Thanks for all the great replies. Down at bike week so I couldn't get back to you guys. Lurch. Not till mid April ill hit you up.
