This will be the first thing I do when home on vacation in January! If I can get away with not having to run a tankbag even for simple day trips and have that much room under the tail then I'm game. Room for tools, rain gear & goodies! I'm game.

HEY ADMINS!

STICKY STICKY STICKY I DONT WANNA LOOSE THIS ONE CAUSE IM GONNA DO IT AT SOME POINT:laugh:

Has anyone tried the mod on a Gen I? It looks like there are more corners to cut around but it might be possible?

sixpack: best effing idea ever! your post inspired me, and i was able to find the same sterilite box you used. (7 bucks on sale at target for those interested)
just wanted to say thanks for the idea, and share my results.
i used some automotive "amazing goop" at the end of the tail to seal up where the plastic doesnt quite meet up properly. the new space is completely unnoticable unless you get under the bike and look for it. plenty of clearance and PLENTY of space now!

btw, the bottle i've placed in the trunk is a 1 gallon jug of arizona rx tea. and there's room to spare above and on the side!
AWESOME mod SIXPACK! thumbs up brother

Nice Job! That would be a great addition to the busa hump glovebox I have from tiger racing. Mine is a gen 1, so I don't know if Tiger makes it for the genII, but if it's available it would give you lots of storage.:bowdown:

i had one of tiger racing's glove boxes on my k3 pumpkin and loved it. wasnt sure how to cope with the limited space when i bought my k8 so i used a rotary tool to hollow out a rectangle between the front and rear bolts of the hump so i could slide stuff in there. there's no way to close it but it works in a pinch!

Thanks man, glad it worked well for you. The gallon jug of tea is what's awesome:laugh:

Bro I can't tell you how excited I still am about this! Last night I had my jacket liner, some thicker gloves, a Large can of plexus and a rag to apply it with; with plenty of room to spare. My buddies on their zx's were jealous!
Today I'm taking my lunch to work without a backpack HAHA
You're a genius man
