Check this out,
I pm'd jgram35 to see if he'd post some info on his seat, I'm not sure what it is yet, but it looks comfortable.

Just looked at that thread SixPack and I think the seat pictured on it that you need is this one...PERFECT for the rider who spends more than 50% of his time on one wheel mate:

This is off the Rick Mayer site, shown is a Gen II seat. I like the Day Long better for looks.

Not bad, I think that piping along the seam dividing the seat top and side material may cut into your inner thigh. Although it could probably be ordered without it.
I'll keep looking too as some type of seat like this is definately going on my bike soon also.:beerchug:

those seats look pretty damn thick.. heli bars required?

As custom as the ordering process is for each I'm sure you can get them as thick or thin as you like.
I have heli-bars and risers and I think that if the seat was soft, comfortable, and held you in place well, that the reach to the bars would be much improved; As you would be more relaxed and secure in the seat and not need to support your body weight on the bars as much(aside from agressive riding).
I still would like the sport seat so that I can move around and hang off the side some for a knee down too.
Day Long's site mentions riding style and position for when they make it. I want the seat front built up so I'm not sliding into the tank.
They also offer 2 free adjustments within the breakin period.

Just keep in mind for the shorter rider, if you're flat footed with the stock seat, you wont be with the Day Long Seat. Dont get me wrong, they make an awesome seat.

I have had them on 3 of my past bikes, Honda ST 1300, Yamaha Stratoliner, and Goldwing. In my opinion, the are the most comfortable seat on the market today.

flat footed with room to spare, but i think some helibars may be in order, just for comfort.

The Russell day long is what I am looking to get. Looks like a winter project, I'll have to order some heli bars and risers.

.75" risers if you're using them with heli-bars, 1" risers with them and the clutch/brake master cylinders will hit the inside of the windsheild near full lock.

thanks man!!! great info!

Yeah man, I really like that combo, but I'm think I'm going to go with the Speigler top clamp and bars(especially with a RDL seat). Big E has a thread on his. I also have many years of dirtbikes/motocross and I don't think those bars would hinder agressive riding ability on the Busa(should be even better!)
Of course that's a personal preference, but something to consider since the heli-bars and spacers aren't cheap. I've tried several bar combos and I'm on my 3rd seat in search of the perfect setup for ME.
I'm glad for the experience with all, but all that money could've been spent elsewhere too.
I know alot us are in out of the way locations, but I'de try hard to sit on someones bike with the ergo mods you think you want.
I'm also not trying to get this seat thread off topic, but seats and bars go together(and adjustable rearsets). It seems lately that quite a few of us would like our Busa's to be just a little more comfortable.:beerchug:

I have heli-bars and .75 genmar risers and think the RDL seat would compliment them nice.

I think I am going with the regular RDL seat. I like how DJ's BKing seat looks and think I could move around on that if I needed to. I don't really care for the look of the sport seats, but that is just me. I plan to keep my Corbin for when I am headed into the mountains for a day trip or something. I will use the RDL for my commute on a daily basis.

Comfort is a definite must. I travel alot with my busa and the longer I stay in the saddle the better. I'm looking at those other bars as well. I am keeping all my options open. I agree, handle bars, seats and rearsets should all be changed together :)

Russell day long seat is a must for guys or gals that do a lot of touring. Put in 600 miles yesturday with DJ. I was squirming all over the corbin seat trying to get comfortable. I may have to fork over the money for a more comfortable seat and switch up to DJs bars too.
