gen mar bar riser

Hey everyone, I have a question:

I am installing a 1-1/4 inch gen mar riser on my o7 busa and need to get an extended brake line. It seems that a couple inches over stock should do it. Anyone else done this mod? If so, is 2 inches enough? Any pointers is appreciated.

thanks, two. I've been reading the threads, but no one has said anything about ordering extended lines. Have you done this mod?

i dont have em but if i remember right from others that all you have to do is reroute it and it will have just enough. But wait for more replys.:beerchug:

Stock length Galfers will not work..... you need at least a +1" I have 3/4 riser on Helibars and the lines are too short...

thanks bogus, that was the answer i needed. I don't see anyway to reroute, as it is a straight shot from the mc to the rt side caliper, except for the bracket, and I'm not giving up any slack from the bracket to the caliper....I don't have a front stand to see how much is left at full extension. I'll just order 3 over.

3 over might be a tad long... I would suggest 1.5-2" both lines run from the MC on the Galfer setup so watch the angles on the banjo fittings.. DO find a way to fully extend the front suspension so you can verify no problems... with the over length lines, I doubt any issues but better safe than sorry ...

(EDIT) I do not have the clutch line so can not comment on it..

thanks for the feedback bogus...i was going to order original, but did not know about the galfer setup....i'll do some measuring tonight. You notice any difference in the braking characteristics with the 2 line form mc setup? I guess in theory there should not be....just curious. Just didn't know if routing in parallel vs. series would make a difference. Never tried it.

Well the feel may have firmed up a bit... I see guys that say the feel a "world of difference" but for the way I ride, maybe just a bit..

I also have EBC HH pads and they made a bigger difference.. with all the complaints about the brakes on these bikes, I find them more than adequate..

I prefer somewhat less than "lock em" front brakes in case someone pulls out in front of me..

I would rather have to pull a bit more than a bit too much and lock the front tire..(you can lock the front tire pretty easily on these bikes if you whack the front brake too hard).. all a mater of preference I guess...

I ran 1 1/4 and had no problems with lines.Just rerouted the fast idle. Then I went to 3/4 risers and helibars and bought SS lines 1 1/2 inches over stock. But then it didn't matter at this point,I dropped the front 3/4 anyway.
