Gen 3 bar risers arriving today...any tips?

Ok I have now fitted the Moto CNC 27mm bar risers to my Gen 3 Busa. It fits perfect. The only thing you will have to change in the kit is the Bolts x4 that run up through the yoke to the top plate. You will require 4x M10 x 1.25 x 90. Bolts. You can go for 8mm Hex socket or 17mm standard bolt head. Both fit very easily and I found the standard 17mm bolt heads much easier to tighten than the Hex styles. Really easy mod to do and makes the Gen3 even more comfortable. Looks pretty stock to

INFO
Bolt size M10x1.25X90 which is a fine pitch thread
Thx a ton mate for the info.

Another conideration for EU riders (only a handful of us I see): Helibars got back to me, saying that any orders via motoluxe.eu are fulfilled from the UK, so the fees are not much better than from the US.

dont think i would be brave enough to attempt this especially on a new bike , a video put on you tube would be great if anyone is going to do it, i was going to do it on my last gen3 untill i seen were the allen head bolts were , done a few zzr 1400,s they are a ten minute doddle !!!!!"

It’s actually very easy if you have the right tools and a stand.

Use plenty of towels to protect the paint. The hardest thing I found was Suzuki loctited the bolts and they go from underneath so it’s slow turning to get the bolts out, going back together is pretty easy.

It isnt a video, but on page two or three there is a picture per step type if deal. It really couldn't be easier and requires just a touch of elbow grease and some tools. It took longer to take the photos than to do the work.

must admit after seeing those pictures it doesnt look as bad as i thought . when you remove the four bolts does the bar set up lift and rest easily out of the way no snaggts dont have nuts and are just taped into the top handle bar assembly thanks

It pulls up and fwd. Place a cloth so you don't scratch anything like I did, there are no nuts to lose since it is tapped

Looks like helibars are about $40 more all in v the other risers. Are the helibars that much better? Do they really bring the bars back a tad more?
I think I read that Helibars and one of the competitors (I can’t remember the brand) both brought the bars up 1” and back 3/8” some call it 1-3/8. I went with Helibar, I figure it’s one of the expensive sport bikes out there why skip on extras. Plus I’m at the age I figure I’m spending the kids inheritance and I’ve already told both my girls I recommend you keep your jobs. Lol.

my bike has just been delivered liking the white a lot more than i thought i would ,my black one was also very nice but every time you touched it it left a finger mark!! have just looked at the bars dont think it will be a problem getting in with the side covers removed , but there does not look like there is enough slack on the brake and clutch pipes to lift the bars up ????

Pop them off.
4 bolts… you might want to adjust where the levers sit anyways.

i am concerned about the slack on the hydraulic lines if i lift 27 mm doesnt look like they would be long enough, would hate to disturb any of the lines or the electrical connections

I just ordered the helibars. Short (under 50 miles) rides are fine. A 200+ mile ride, my old man low back starts to talk back. Assuming the risers will be a noticeable difference.

As mentioned, carefully lock steering right and left making sure clutch and brake levers contact nothing

I installed Helibars on my gen 3 with no issues, plug in play, no cable adjustments needed. I did not remove the side fairings, used 4 or 5 towels to protect the paint. Only issue is Suzuki used loctite on the 4 Allen bolts so they were slow turning getting out. Going back together is easier because the loctite I used takes time to setup and the new bolts are socket head. Go for it.
