Gen2 copart special: redemption

Braketech but they are tad expensive.

Moto Mummy?.
Superbike Unlimited?.

I don't know why I complicated this so much. Got the same thing ordered from Moto Mummy, looks like they are already shipping it this morning. Cancelled order with Galfer directly.

Also I only got half of my fairings!! The other box hasn't been delivered yet. What a tease.

Okay! Got both rotors in and on, and got new wheel bearings in too!

I just threw axle in at a glance it seems good on bike, will do an actual install this weekend.

Also...second box of fairings came in!

I am hoping to find time in next few days to do some serious work.
- get axle and wheel mounted
- test & bleed front/rear brakes
- road test!

Then I get to figure out this gigantic puzzle that is the fairings installation. Jeez there are a lot of little black pieces.

Laying out all the parts on your bed or a large blanket will help. Which Dunlop is that? I always run Michelins.

That should work and makes sense to me.

There are several videos on You tube about the removal and installation of the fairings...the owners manual also has the order of removal/installation.

Any suggestion for the order to try to get these fairings on?

I was thinking
- under bike (rectifier)
- tail section
- front / bottom
- screen
- dash trim
- sides
I just put back all the fairings on mine and the order i did was:

-nose fairing
-dash trim
-side fairings
-under bike (rectifier)

tail section didnt matter if it when on first or last
windscreen can be left for last or after the dash trim is on.

Wow this is really hard!!

As I'm figuring bits out I'm just kinda zip tying them in place to hold them and get out of way, I'll come back and fit it all after I see how it all goes

What do you guys do with all this dampening material do you actually move it to new fairings?

Hard? Tell her to go inside. :) And yes, new pieces seldom if ever have that material.

I don't think you will be able to reuse any of that foam as @ottafish pointed out, it doesn't come off the old ones in one piece.

I am noting you have the sides on...the nose goes on first as the sides snap into the nose.

There is a video on here somewhere (cue @RedBull to hunt it down) That shows how to re-attach the sides...

If you are patient, you can remove most of it in one piece with a snap-off utility knife. pull back on the foam and cut as close to the edge as possible. The process is time consuming but it was worth it over paying almost $80 i believe for new foam.

To glue it back on, I used a generous amount of gorilla glue.

Usually the Chinese fairings come with their version of heat shielding u can put on, some people remove it from the stock fairings to save a little weight it's basically up to u. When I did my buddies fairing I was able to get a few pieces off and used some spray adhesive to put on the new one since the dealer messed up on the parts when he ordered them but like @DougE said its real time consuming.
