Gen3 - couldn't be more disappointed

We know (official announcement) that the IMU in gen3, is Bosch. A Taiwanese site is giving the ABS as Bosch (in Chinese) [ 重車檔案 2021 HAYABUSA 隼 ]. We also know that the most recent ECU by Bosch are locked [ New 2020/2021 BMW/MINI Models Not Tuneable | Locked Bosch ECU - MANHART Performance ] due to (probably) requirement that people do not override the Euro5 regulations as well as possibly "requirements for autonomous (or semi-autonomous such as the adaptative radar rumored to be coming to the new version of the HS2X) driving". This change (June 2020) has been very low key at Bosch and not announced officially.
Does anyone has information on the ECU brand in the gen3 ?
The way I read the Euro 5 regulation the OBD reg 1 (On-Board Diagnostics, Version 1) is in effect as they could not agree to the version 2 regs. These regs mean the bike has to monitor the emissions stuff constantly and throw a fault if there is an issue. Sounds like maybe a tangled web if you try to mess with it either by disabling the emissions or replace the pipe with a cat-less pipe. There are a lot of geniuses out there when it comes to altering a Busa but I think this is going to really be a puzzle. It will be interesting to see if the aftermarket guys jump right in with PC5's and pipes. That's the thing to watch. If pipes are available then someone knows how to hack it.

Sounds the same way diesel is, you have to buy a stand alone ecu for $$$$ since the encryption are getting crazy high, they also change seed with each key turn? If I remember? Maybe they will be able to just piggy back or it won't be super encrypted? All way out of my realm or I.Q.

Europe is a pretty small market when compared to the whole rest of the world... why does Brussels get to dictate global policy?
They don't. Complying with Euro 5 means you have to sell euro 5 compliant motorcycles everywhere. If you don't want to do that don't and skip the euro market. That's what Suzuki did with the previous generation's Busa.

All press info shows a Denso ECU so we'll see how easy it becomes to hack....

I've never ridden a bike with linked brakes but it sounds like a good idea., If it can be toggled.
My Honda ST has ‘em. The Honda system is well calibrated and it’s really nice to scrub speed on the freeway. You can’t toggle it and I’m not crazy about it in gravel parking lots.

Whenever I am lucky enough to buy a Gen3,all i would want would be to replace stock mufflers with a free flow types.Riding busa with stock mufflers will be a big disappointment for me.

It would have been great.
I am soooo...disappointed.
I mean, ffs.. 14 years and just a rehashed gen 2.
Absolutely gutted.
Even a 600 is as quick.
And the litres.. Well fcuk me, they are going to be flying past, laughing.
Shame on you Suzuki.
Yours in disgust.

My new Gen3 arriving end of March
Lol. It should have been a 1441cc. However, it's still a Bad Bike.

Like I posted in the other thread:

"DENSO"....it's not Bosch. Verified.

Don't ask, can't say.

They can stick a supercharger on like the H2 then we can all go and buy one!
I feel like you could probably buy a gen 3, buy a supercharger kit and pay labor to have it installed and tuned and you'd be right at the same price as the h2 if not cheaper at least with the pre-sell price some were getting. When the price on a new h2 comes close to a new busa maybe then I'll look at one but even then I know there's no kaw ever gonna replace Suzuki for me. So my question for you is had Suzuki supercharged the gen 3 and raised the price 10k or so would you have ran right out to buy one or would you have been on here saying how ridiculous the price is?

Exactly! The same people complaining about no supercharger or H2 killer are the same ones complaining about the price...
A '21 H2SX SE is around $28k here and a gen 3 Hayabusa is $23k....I think you'd be hard pressed to turbo or supercharge a gen 3 for the price difference...

If someone were shopping for a decent sport tourer, the H2SX SE has a bigger windshield, hard bags and a more upright riding position...all with a warranty.

Actually no. I've ordered a Gen-3 for $16,850, tax and everything $17,900.

A base RCC kit is $4,500 and a stage-2 is $5,250. Either will make more power than a H2SX and be more reliable at the increased power levels. You'd have to mod the H2 either way to be competitive and power wise cya warranty on either.

If you're leaving it 100% stock not sure I'd purchase either for touring maybe..

Well, here in Canada, the prices are a bit higher I guess..

What is an H2SX SE worth there?

You'd you have to do quite a bit to make a stock Gen 3 just to be competitive power wise to a stock H2SXSE
