Gestapo Tactics, Read Quick! (Update, Resolved!)

8 days from order to shipping doesn't seem to terribly long to me .:lookaround:

And to add my 2 cents If I needed a 70 dollar part so darn bad to go riding with my friends for the weekend, I would have found a different source and had it overnighted and cancelled the original order and been done with it.:tongue3:

Yes, this Co. must be punished harshly. :banghead:

20 % till June of 2010 in writing of course. for all org members or any other boards we pass this link along too. :cheerleader:

Just Kidding also.

Looks to me like Mr. McCoy is doing everything possible to please an impossible customer.
What's the big hurry anyway? I have waited weeks for things I ordered. That is just life.
When I need an item in hurry, I call the vendor and confirm a ship date and ask them for a delivery date. If I need it faster, I pony up for faster shipping. I don't understand why stnick is so upset. There are plenty of things to be upset about like cancer or someone dieing. It's just a part ... someone should evaluate what is important. All this drama over a online order is crazy..:stirpot:

I wasn't going to post on this but like a few others I have a couple cents I would just like to add here. This is exactly what we don't need here on the Org. this becoming a pissing fight over a dead horse.

I will say that sometimes things out of anyones control happen. Can you really hold one mistake against someone. I think we would all have fewer friends if this was the case, I can understand that there was a timing issue and Nick you seem very passionate about riding (this is good we all do) and I'm pretty sure everyone here has had something happen that prevented that one day we were planning to ride and something came up regardless of if it was a parts problem or a personal problem. same time I don't see where Mike didn't try to make it up to you, He seems very sincere and ready to help.

We all know that making something right after it's gone south is a hard thing and for some people that's it no matter what is offered after the fact. At the same time I don't see Mike not trying to make it right for you. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong but at the same time it's a nice thing to give someone the chance to fix it as we have all made a mistake from time to time even when we are trying our hardest.

As for the Mods getting paid not sure when that started they do this because they love to ride they love this place and want it to be the best forum around. The only pay I'm aware of the satisfaction knowing the site will stay open and continue to grow with great members and people. That and the ability to give the almighty pink toaster:laugh:.

glad we all can take a moment and just ...breathe... we all have problems and i am glad to see so far one side stepping up to make sure its right...waiting for the other side to respond....

Your outrage and vindictivness seems way over the top based on this man's (vendors) apologies and offers to make things right...

IMO

I have to chime in for the simple fact that I had a problem with a Sponsor before... these are my simple observations of this thread.... -

1. Cap- much respect; but does it really matter how many posts (88?) he had before slandering a sponsor? Forums are constantly guarding against "post whores"... i dont think it should matter one single bit if he has 5 posts, 88 posts, or 10,948 posts... If the guy says he had a bad experience.. let it play out.. owning a forum should be hands off.. moderation SHOULD be limited to sex, drugs, post whores, swearing etc... not some "newb" posting what he experienced. Lots of people post on here about their experiences that are so different and crazy to others of us.. and we think "what is this guy smoking" but its a forum.. and the freedom of speech (while within certain bounds) should be respected here.... this being said while i didnt see the original post either. It is YOUR board... but the idea behind membership is that it is EVERY members' board regardless of time in service if you will.

2. Stnick- if you work in a 'Top Secret' facility to you really think it is smart to broadcast that on the internet to a bunch of people that you dont know? Seems fishy to me that you would say anything.. TS is pretty up there in the scheme of things... and it seems like you are broadcasting your status saying this more than providing an effective reply to your reason of not calling (ie - I simply don't have phone access at my workplace). I would think that as a worker in a TS facility you would know you are a target of bad folks and the internet can be used to help find your location, have some figure out your patterns and take advantage of you to gain access to whatever/wherever it is that you do/work. So that red flags me from the get go.

And secondly.. "Gestapo Tactics" really?? Are you sure you want to compare an internet forum full of fellow cycle/busa riders to the Gestapo? I mean.... really????? Is that your intent?? Because rider or not, member or not, person or not.... thats pretty low and out there. I mean... it was only a couple generations ago that folks were dealing with real life Gestapo... and now Cap is a member?? Kind of setting yourself against odds with that one.

3. I had a BAD experience with a sponsor on this website not too long ago.. i made the attempt to vent my feelings and problems without naming the vendor (so as not to cause a real stir) and I got slammed and flamed for my actions. I almost left this site over it. A forum is a place to discuss and chat... it shouldn't be a place to slam people who respectfully place an opinion, thought or experience... especially when... well....... most people here, if they met you face to face, you would probably by dinner for and shake their hand. Most people are passive aggressive in nature but have no problem slamming someone who isnt there in real life... give them a forum... OMG everyone is a hero.

Vent if you must... provide accurate information and try to remain cool and calm (like your in real life person would be if face to face) and everything is honky dorie(sp?).

4. I ordered from Tobefast via the internet via my wife who was on the phone with Bart.. great experience.. parts on time. This is my experience... everyone may not have the same.. do we need to trip out? No. Plenty of people to get parts from... my findings on this forum- don't post anything that remotely slams another member or sponsor... just not worth your time and isn't going to fix anything. (Thanks for that 10% discount BTW... wish I could use it :( )

Wow.. i love being up late with NOTHING better to do than type... Stnick... don't leave the forum because of this. There are quite a few really good people here. I am certain that you will have good experiences in the future.. and this thread will be forgotten sooner than you think................

what were we talking about? anyone? bah... next thread.

agreed....

I do know some people expect "instant gratification" and that just is not how "Net orders" usually work.. With that said, vendors typcially do a fantastic job of speedy service.. i have grown used to order today, here in 2 days... I guess we get spoiled..

Jumping online and slamming a site and a sponsor? Probably not the best idea regardless... fixes nothing and presents a rather hostile environment..

A business like Mr McCoys did not get that way by being careless or insensitive to customer needs or complaints.. You can bet that they do everything they can to take care of people.. (Happy customers have a way of coming back ya know.. I have never seen a business that could survive without return clients except undertakers)

Nice gesture, but I really don't think it's necessary. Sometimes I get things within a day or two and sometimes it takes a week to 10 days as I watch items shipped all over the place using tracking.

I want to thank you for sponsoring this site and I hope that everything gets squared with Nick.

I'm usually really laid back about things like this...the wait I mean. I'm one of those guys that looks at parts and mulls over decisions forever!
When I finally pull the trigger, I'm never waiting by the mailbox. It'll get here...when it gets here. I don't jump when people snap their fingers and I never expect others to either. People get pulled off task - I know I do constantly at work and home.

I have a good riding buddy (converted to a frickin Kawi 14 tho:laugh:) who is the exact opposite. When he orders something off the net, he's the type guy to keep hitting the "Refresh" button to see if his tracking number came through yet. :please: These type transactions are VERY stressful for him and give me a good laugh:laugh:. I tell him every time - why don't you go to the frickin store and just pay to get it and take it with you!? :poke:

While I do see your view on the initial wait, personal service call from the owner would've calmed me down. If you had gotten ripped off, or had been given the feeling that potential was there to get ripped off, I could see myself posting up in desperation.

I didn't really scrutinize the emails between you guys but, through the overall posts, I think Mike made the attempt to handle this once the problem was identified. As for CAps role, I take up for my friends all the time...when I hear something that seems out-of-character being said about one of my friends - who I feel comfortable speaking up for, I will. I think CAp saw that this was only a misunderstanding and tried to keep the flames from being fueled by your post. I don't feel that it was a coverup/conspiracy to hide "the truth".

Mucho good advice has been put out there already. Did you jump the gun?? IMO, maybe a lil. I don't know that I would've waited to the point that my bike was down before ordering a part over the I-Net that would be required by week's end...added to the urgency factor that caused the frustration.
I think Mike and CAp did what he should have done (Mike) and what I would have done (CAp). I actually would feel better about doing business with Mike after reading this post than I did before reading it (not that I was against it before).
I'm glad you got your parts, sorry you were inconvenienced, but there are great people here!:beerchug:

and BTW, I've had a few of my threads removed since joining the board ...but I always had a reason given by the Mod that took action and after I had time to cool off (internet tough-guy!:muscle: ), I could see that the tone/context of my post was not constructive and what was so important for me to say that second, wasn't such a big deal the next day...or could be worded differently to possibly have a positive outcome.

As you see, I keep coming back, and hopefully you will too.

I don't know about all this, but my experience with the McCoys (tobefast.com) has been nothing but positive. Not all of the parts in my recent order were in stock, but that was made clear to me when I placed my order over the phone with Bart. I still got quick shipping, great prices, and friendly customer service. Having the best price isn't as important to me as getting good customer service. Luckily, with McCoy you can get both. Mike, keep doin' what you're doing and don't worry about all this mess.

1. In addition to your list of what you think is appropriate to be moderated, we do not allow personal attacks. It doesn't matter if the attack is against another member or a sponsor. Keep in mind this is not a public board, there is no charge for becoming a member. The rules are set forth by the owner of the board, Captain, and you agree to abide by the rules when you register.

2. If a stranger walks up to you on the street and starts ranting about how bad a company is, what will be your reaction? Same with post count, a person with a low post count is a strager to the board. If they start ranting about how sponsors have poor customer service, things aren't beeing run right, etc its the same as someone you don't know doing in real life. Post count isn't the ruler for worth on the board, but in cases where someone is lashing out and attacking, its important to know who you are dealing with. In this case we didn't, and once tobefast posted up the email conversation, it seems that stnick really put a spin on what the "facts" are that he presented.

Good Morning, 'busa brothers! Just got here and saw this....hmmm. Sure hate to see new family members have hurt feelings, but sometimes the ole adage of 'no pain, no gain' may apply in relationships as well. Just bear with everyone Nick and you'll find this one of the better internet families you could ever be a part of. Lot's of good advice and wisdom among all these people.

How about just taking the opportunity to rest and think about the intent behind all the member's input you've solicited. Everyone really appears as if they want to get along....hmmm, in my books, that's pretty cool. Mike at tobefast.com has not only offered a (quite unnecessary .oRg discount) 'peace present' to you, but apologized as well. I believe I've read somewhere that 'it's better to be reconciled than right.' Reconciliation has far more possibilities for good things to happen than to reject someone for being 'wrong'.

We've been given something that no other part of creation has the ability to do, and that's restore wrong's to make things right. Usually means exchanging 'grace' (I forgive you, please forgive me...or not) and dining on some humility to experience the refreshing experience of "Ah shucks, wasn't no big deal."

I have the hardest time not trying to be right for the sake of being right and struggle to see past my offenses to recognize what is the greater glory...stand by myself to be right, or stand with others as one united in purpose. Seems like there's more strength in the many than the one. Maybe that's what family is for and I hope you see the .oRg siblings as trying to be this way for you.

God bless you, busa brothers! Everyone have a Good 'un!

(back to school work....)
