Getting carried away w/ the rating system

it's all fun and game, and really enjoyable if you think about it.
just look at all the conterversity allready made over the rating system.
it is a good ideal to keep us from getting bored.

Well,
It finally happened... I went to chow with 24 ratinings @ 5 and now I have 27 ratings @4.85 .... and I didn't even do anything bad yet today....

Oh well - now it is time for the fun to start

I have 3- 5's 1- 3 and 1 - 1.  With wide spread ratings it really lowers the effectiveness of the rating system.  Or at least let us know who rates us so it will be more thought out before someone just throws you a 1 for no reason.

When I only had a 5 ratings i was able to keep up with it but now I have 9 and dont know what they all are.

all i have given is 5's...to those that have helped me out and a couple that i have seen that are constantly helping out others...
of course there are those that i may not agree with on a particular subject but i didn't think that was what the rating system was for so i didn't slam their rating just because i see things differently...
i assumed it was basically to let us know who was trustworthy and who wasn't...that would be helpful, especially when doing business with people you may never actually meet

i went down in a thread about wanting a tre. so i got lowered to a 4
ratings are pointless! if you dont deal with the person one on one how can you rate them.
some are rating people based apon the topic or not.

i say so what raitings are for the auction not the board. there you have to buy to rate. like e-bay

Everyone on this post had gotten 5's from me weeks ago .....but I admit there have been only 2 members that didn't get a 5 from me . And neither of them are in this post .

I have given all 5's except 1-3 and 1-1 to someone who was a member for 2 years and posted like 12 times and came back blasting the site changes with vulgarity.

If I could I would give all you people a 5 and a bag of chips.

After you are rated 10-12 times, a lone and bad rating from someone is not going to hurt. Anything 4 or above is excellent!

(Over_Easy @ Nov. 13 2006,10:02) Not that I was ever really concerned about maintaining my 5 rating, but it struck me as odd that immediately after I posted a thread about Notre Dame moving up in the College Football BCS rankings I was almost immediately demoted by some hater for being a Notre Dame fan.

I know most people here are familiar with me by now so to be honest I'm not worried about being mis-represented by a stupid rating.  But when I see unfamiliar members w/ a 1-2 rating it makes wonder if they truly are an @sshole.

Just hope nobody is giving somebody a sh!t rating because of something stupid like an avatar or a fan of something.

I have only givin rating to people I have dealt with on a personal basis. I gave all fives except to the guy that tried to scam me while buying parts. He received a lower rating.
