Give feedback on safety gear (or lack of) when you went down.

I honestly don't think that brand is that important - just get a well known reputable brand, it should do the job.

Been down once on the track and a few times on the street. Always fully geared including back protector. Was lucky to have no serious injuries - a scrape, a black and blue, a bit of hurting...

In 07 I crashed my XX. Went down at at 111, per the GPS.

Vanson leather jacket - Minor damage that was repaired by Vanson.
Olympia touring gloves - destroyed. Really the wrong type of gloves for hard sport riding.
Joe Rocket boots - a few scrapes. Still wearing them.
Jeans - destroyed!

Human body - only a bruise on my left leg.

The wife and I have a saying "you dress to crash, not to be stylish!"

Gotta love and always have the safety gear on! Have had no major get off's, but have learned a lot from your guys experiences.
