GoPro goes Oh Noooooooooo !

LOL, you shoulda posted a thread titled "Will it work?" Before you went out. I can tell you that anything that long that is plastic and hollow would be under quite a bit of stress at 60+mph. Next time you make a 130+mph pull, rapidly throw your arm out to the side and see what it feels like. Glad you got good customer support on the issue.

What happened to the nice orange lanyard?

Why It was right in my pocket where it was supposed to be...:banghead:

Also I rode it up to about 60mph and looked back at it . it was fine.
It reached a critical speed and then snapped.
The test vids were fine , smooth and very watchable..
Unfortunatley as mentioned I did not save them to PC and they were still on the card when it went down.

My wife also said if I had tether than it would have held camera and pole behind me , bouncing around and possibly, possibly made me wreck. Possibly ?
Get caught up in wheel and well who knows ?

Yes all test vids as well as over 2hrs of perfect beach cruising along Deerfield beach and pier were still on card. I did not save test vids tp PC.
I had, actually had suction cup in my hand but put it back down and said "no I'm just cruisng I wont need it" :banghead:

My arm was more forward , higher and right over my shoulder.
It captured gauges as well as hands and street ahead.
It was really a nice view.

Listen 1st test model didn't work but the pos and view was exactly what I wanted.

Saiid, when the GoPro first came out, we did a thread on the Pashnit Forum just on GoPro gaffes alone. No fault of the camera - just operator error.

I've shot video that was all upside down, forgot to insert new batteries, forgot turn it on, leaned the bike over so far, scrapped it against the pavement, and worst of all I shot a days worth of video & pics, included one of the guys who crashed in front of me (scrapes, bruised ego) - got to the hotel that night and deleted all the files by accident when transferring it to my laptop.

 Welcome to the human club.

Man that sux! Helmet mount next perhaps?

Tried that and wasnt really happy with it but it may be my safest bet.
The view my Ho-made arm gave me was right over shoulders a little left and you could see Helmet, Shoulder, Gauges and hand.
It was cool.
I'm mentally working on a better one...that is unless Tim has this one laying around collecting dust ?

I have done the same. HAHAHA and more. After the past 6 years now i have blown out just from wear and tear many cameras.... Im replacing 2 new bullet cams this week.... Welcome the wonderful world of video on a motorcycle

But I'm telling you as I sit here now I'm pissed I found like 99 percent of it but the one percent , the data card whether working or not I did not !
Thing was inside of it for cryin out loud ?!
What a final few shots that would have been !

Physics my brother, PHYSICS! Even with the camera on the top of my helmet using the supplied mount, there is a bunch of wind resistance so I guaranty too much resistance on a skinny piece of plastic pipe. Tim's anchor looks more substantial but to me still kinda iffy. Thanks for letting us know so the we wont go down that road.

Keep on filming!

The view from the mount I had was perfect.
It worked perfect for low speed cruising down Ocean Ave and by the pier.
It was only up to and beyond HGwy speed it did not work.
I knew that and told myself that.
If I had the video you would have seen the most perfect line of thunderstorms on left side/ west side moving rapidly east as I was going north home.
I pushed it a bit too fast trying to beat the rain.
60-70 it was fine, going around a car 80-90 it broke off.

GOOD NEWS IS GOPRO HAS ALREADY RESPONDED AND OFFERED ME 40% OFF A REPLACEMENT.
FAIR ENOUGH.
ALL I NEED IS NAKED MODEL WHICH IS $259.00 SO 60% OF THAT IS $155.40.
BETTER THAN FULL COST TO BUY A NEW ONE AND MY FAULT SO OH WELL.

This really sucks but that is great service for them to cut you a deal.

That's a lot of work to get a new camera. J/K, glad you came out OK on the deal.
