GoPro Mount idea for y’all that 3D print stuff

So, for those of us that don’t run a plate/plate bracket, it seems like it would be cool/easy to make a go pro mount that mounted off of one or two of those bolts under the tail. It would need to have a drop down in it to clear our little spoiler thing but the video would be so much better than the passenger peg mounts.

I didn't think about it, but I'm in the same boat since my plate is on my arm. Sounds like a great idea.

If can get me the distance between those bolts and what size hole (or just bolt size), should be something really easy to put together. I'm not entirely sure I'd trust a PLA, even at 100% infill, with the camera having off the bottom of it. But could simply get printed from Shapeways in ABS or better.

Just winged it for an idea with a GoPro receiver.

It looks like the holes are approx 40mm center to center, the opening itself is 13mm and recessed about 3mm.

It really looks like you could do a flat piece 55mm wide with a say 45mm wide slot to have a little wiggle room for adjustments then have the Mount right there, or even extend out away from the back of the bike about 2” then have the Mount to get it away from the tire a little.

I’ll gladly pay for the time/material to prototype it. I think it would make a cool piece for the few of us that could use it.

Thanks for the measurements!

Here's an actual mount with slotted 13mm openings on each side 40mm apart. 5mm tall base part.

I know what you're wanting to push it out ~2" and still intend to do that, just want to confirm fitment with a test print this evening.

How far are you stretched again? Tire to camera clearance was something I was worried about I’m only 4” over so that Mount would *probably* work on mine. But I think you’re like a foot longer than me and I can see where that’s an issue

The 360 pole is a good idea too. Even if the tan was extended out a little
More and a GoPro mounted to the top of it instead of the bottom

I'm stretch around +4.5 currently, according to the arm. I can measure axle to axle to get a better idea, because I believe it's more than the expected +4-6 adjustment as to where the tire sits and kinda curious if it's accurate or not.

I forgot to mention, but I did flip it upside down to see where the GoPro mount ended. It is a mm or so from the tail light diffuser. Extended it out a little more should work. How much future you want to move the mount from current location?

I’ll get some cardboard and my go pro tonight and take some hacked up redneck job together to get measurements

Okay I hope you’re ready to be blown away by a superior level of fabrication

Go pro mount 4.5” from under tail bolts (cardboard is longer than 4.5) this would in theory be enough room up or down for any of the last generation Hero’s or Session and be good for a gap cam or just general shenanigans.
My bike is 25.5” from pivot to axle, and lowered 2.5 or more inches in the rear.
A go pro could be mounted upright or under ear with no tire issue, probably even if I was an inch or so farther out too.

Thanks! What about the GoPro fingers on both sides of the mount so won't need to flip it around?
I don’t see why not. i don’t have a 360 camera and don’t know how they mount but would it work for some people to do 360 cam on too and Go Pro underneath.

Insta360 uses a 1/4-20 to attach, like a tripod. I'm starting to learn about this camera, but it's noticably heavier than the FauxPro I have. Unsure if it's feasible, but will leave it open ended for now. I'll try to get the mount updated this weekend for ya.
