(Charlesbusa @ Feb. 17 2007,08:47) Very sad for the family

This sport isn't for everyone.  And it has nothing to do with skill, it has to do with judgement.
no..it has to do with "both"...but yes.."judgement" is a large part of it....or?...visa-versa.
Think of it like this,

Skill determines how fast you can ride until you crash.

Judgement keeps you from crashing by keeping you within your skill level.

sad to hear...back in the old days, it just didn't seem to happen as often as it does anymore...i think the combination of more people riding (especially those that didn't grow up on bikes, have a good job now and want to start at the top) and the power available now has a lot to do with that...my prayers go out to the wife, daughters, and person in the cage...everyone please ride safe AND smart

Well put!

Guys I used to be this rider, close in age and skill. Luckily an older skilled rider sat me down and explained things to me man to man.

If you bark orders and talk shib it wont sink in, man up and teach.

Great thread sorry he had to pay the ultimate price for his mistakes, but it sounds like he had a number of warnings.

I wish the best to his family.

I've been on too many of those rides with similar endings over the past 2 years. That's one of the main factors for me starting my riding organization. Teaching people how to ride in groups and helping them gain experience in a controlled ride. Not out there "riding their own ride" with a group of riders with varried experience levels.

This is just awful. I witnessed my best friend killed in front of me also.

To fast on a back road and a Sunday farmer making a left in front of him with no turn signal.

I really feel bad for the wife and children. Just so un-nessacary.

Just awful Bill..

runeight...

WOW this seems to be a re-ocurring issue lately. My heart and prayers go out to the family. I feel so bad for the wife & the little girls. Wish someone had spoken to him (or more), Maybe things would have been different or maybe it wouldn't. Is this why getting back to the track is on my mind so much lately. Is it Just Me??

R.I.P. rider, God look after his family.

I'm in for .02 worth,

Not a week goes by that we don't lose someone in the Vegas area. Squid or experienced rider. Mostly squids. Just the same, it's good for me to read and to acknowledge the inherent risks of riding a motorcycle "with and without" other experienced riders. I never ride with people I don't know, and don't trust. I'd rather chase John / Gofaster across Death Valley in the triple digits, than play with someone whose apt to make a costly mistake. Hell, that's all I do is chase John, but he's explained to me time and time again about safety, form, and ridin' a Busa........

Don't think I don't spend plenty of time watching youtube "crackup" videos......I love the stunting when it's done well, but all those guys smashing up motos on accident sometimes costs lives.....

RIP

Somewhere in the org. posts I've read that a man must know his limitations, expecially on a Busa. It's sad for the children.

If you make BAD decisons...you're gonna have BAD results.

Skill level isn't gonna save your life...GOOD judgements may
