Whats up BigDiesel first off big props to a Vested RR setting a prospect straight. I try to do the same every time I meet a prospect riding with that damn ICON field armor vest. So it protects your back, but what about your shoulders and arms. I always tell them that the 150 to 180 for mess armor is far better than the road rash.

sorry about my previous take. Apparently Ruff Ryders is the stand-upest most righteous, fill the world with hope organization around. Hopefully the attitudes of the Milwaukee chapter can filter down to the rest of the "lesser" clubs and we can all get along as well as they do.

I feel your pain Diesel.... being the Pres of an ALL GIRL crew (even though we are an Association not an MC) .. it is hard to beat the BW (bike *****) mentality out of these girls....

They think Short Shorts, cute tennis shoes and a bikini top are the way to ride on the beach.... I'd love to walk up to them with a wire brush and rub it up and down their leg a few times.

I try to lead by example.... my actions speak louder than my words.. and when I refuse to ride with them.. they can take it or leave it.

Brother,
You have to stand for what you believe in regardless of all the flame happy wanksters... Somebody has to start the revolution even in a crew that tends to think little of gear...
i guess Im a magnet for the haterade, broham-they just cant seem to keep their mouths shut when I happen to open mine to try n say sumpin nice....same old song, J
deadhorse.gif

But I knew thats how it would be when I started the chapter here-dont mean Im guna let the Haterz do anything more than what their littel feeble minds will allow them to do-hate

sorry but the whole RR thing is squid oriented anyways, it's all about posing instead of riding, the RR i'v seen in action fly around town then park
I clicked on the LA chapter,it looked like something i seen in my sons Grand Theft Auto PS2 game
yep exactly my take on it too.
I could give two flyin figs what your take on anything to do with the RR is.

Truthfully I think we have got'n way off course here. Lets get back on subject peeps..

Big D I would say that ANY education/classes/requirements that condone use of safety equipment of any kind is a plus in my book. It might not help at all but I would rather try and fail then set on the sidelines and wish I was in the game..

What have you said nice?  NOTHING!  Slamming everybodies opinions as hate is irresponsible and close minded.  You started this thread by saying that a girl in wanna be status in your chapter rode without gear and got hurt.  Everybody in agreement gets flamed for hating.  You are damn right.  Lamb hates when riders get hurt because they don't wear gear.  Especially when they are trying to get into a motorcycle club.  Apparently some motorcycle clubs care more about the motorcycles than the motorcyclists.  Don't start some thread on gear if you don't wanna listen to opinions.  Lamb doesn't care if you wanna role with gangsters or hippies or lesbians.  Someone who has a differing opinion than yours isn't a hater.  Someone who hates doesn't provide a solution to your mess which has been given twice.  It not only allows you to save face-the wanna bees can still look like they don't know better,  but allows you to keep them a lil safer-they are protected.  Again,  what have you said nice?  NOTHING!

But-I'm still in my position, and no member can be voted in w/o my & the Pres's express consent, so anyone ELSE who wants to gain access to all the parties, gear & bike discounts, and the International RR organization, will be forced to do what I say, or they'll have to join a different club...n lets face it, all the other ones are poopy

Do what I say.  Do what I say.  Do what I say.  Do what I say.  Do what I say.  Love me daddy!

I wear the Icon vest, under an armored leather jacket. Sorry, but the spine protection on jackets just isn't enough for me. After a fractured vertebrae and a spinal fusion, I want a little extra on the spine.

bro-check out SIXSIXONE they have some awesome warm-weather gear!

picked up their '07 Pressure suit for summer riding, and this thing is about the best protection I can afford that still allows GREAT airflow for the HOT days-hit almost 90deg. here yest. but that thing is just sooper-cool. Wore it to the Bash this year and prolly saved me from sweating off ANOTHER 20lbs! N.C. is HAWT in April brutha!

*and yes, it DOES make you look cool*
face7.gif

on a side note-ICON had the right idea with those back protectors; I see at least 3-4 riders out on hot days wearing those (too bad thats usually it...o well) and I know of another local MC that is going to start using those vest as their club vest with their logos stitched in too. ICON is makin CRAZY money with all their 'street' oriented gear...just wish they'd bring back the original Ti Max short gloves-those things are THA BOMB!!! n my old pair is wearing out...

Hey Big D, You tell the peeps in your circle to wear what you feel they need. That is your right/responibility as the top dog. Don't let anyone sway you in what you believe. I can tell from your posts that it doesn't look like many do!
beerchug.gif

I just want to add that there are many full CE pants and jackets for under $200 for a full summertime suit. I mean if you can't afford the parachute, then don't jump out the plane. Hell, I see guys around here with frame sliders for their bikes and no gear for themselves.

Set a group rule and stick to it. For those not in the group, they can make up their own minds. I know folks that have wrecked and still won't wear gear. I believe adults shoulds always have the choice. The idiots will take care of themselves.

As for looking cool over being safe...Looks fade, "stupid" is forever.

apparently you do or you wouldnt have even mentioned association with it
pillepalle.gif

like i said early,i could really care less about a so called motorcycle club, gang, crew wtf it wants to call itself, personally i think the whole thing is childish.I have two friends who are full fleged Pegans...thats a group of criminals thats all that is, Ruff Ryders or Rough Riders however you want to spell it isnt even close to being a MC if the standard of MC is The Pegans,Hells Angels,Mongoles...etc, just a bunch of adults who feel the need to be a part of something. and its great theres MC how give gifts to kids (toys for tots) work the soup line...etc...but how many of these ppl would do that on their own if they wernt part of a MC that made it a point to do these things to help with any negative imagies in the community they have..I bet you none.Im not impressed with any of it..

btw...isnt the Fonz from Milwalkee....is he a RR too........

AAAAAAAAA!

i ALSO can give two flyin figs what your take on my opinions are

O think you missed the pooint of my post, I was refering to folks wearing the icon field armor vest and only the vest. It works great with other protective gears but isnt going to save much if worn alone.

By the way how did a post about folks wearing gear degrade into a Slam on the Ruff Rryders. Either you are down to be one of us or your not, We are the largest motorcycle lifestyle club. We have chapters all over the US even in Europe. Loved by many respected by few hated by all. RUFF RYDERS LA WESTCOAST CHAPTER

Real talk? Just my observations: I think it started because of a bad post with a halfway decent moral behind it. The moral of the story was to gear up, but it was told with the tone of "do it or I'll kick your ass", and "do it or I'll TRY to make sure you don't get in MY club". That's what drew the heat in my opinion. Obviously he doesn't have THAT much influence cause it doesn't look like anyone else is following his lead/demands/threats/etc.

Like I said before, I think it's great that D wears gear. He showed that in the video. I think my, and a lot of other people's point is that how can you try to force someone to do something as a requirement to join a group that virtually no one else in the group does?! That's like saying "In order to join the NRA, you can't own any guns". Makes absolutley no sense. If that's the example you wanna set, that particular group of riders is not going to help in any way. Again, just my

Definitely a good move. Gear is extremely important. Seen people doing some stupid things without it and paying severely for it.

This thread has really done a 180 from Big D's advocation of gear to the flaming of RR's. Props to Big D for advocating gear!

This is not meant to be anti RR, I am just uninformed. I thought that the RR club was an only Busa club, but from watching the video, I saw other types of sport bikes.

Diesel I give you PROPS

for being the ONLY person in that video with a HELMET on!

Actions speak louder than words.. lead by example. (but remember some people don't take hints very well)
