H.I.D.s install on my 08 Hayabusa

35wt is perfect for a bike, 55wt is over kill and may be a little too much during initial start up with stock wiring but you could get the wire harness for $20.00 comes with relay and its easy to install.
Me and a few friends did a compare test and 4500K is the brightest and whitest but to each his own. I just love that crystal clear bright white

I have been out for a little bit had surgery on my knee. All I did was shorted the wire. The length of red and black wire is what I removed out of the harness. made for a cleaner install! Yes I love my hids too!

I bought this kit I get the high beam to work but the low doesnt it comes on with the high. I have no controls any ideas? Harness is wired to battery and the other is connected to the switch is the harness needed is that the is issues. Are you running a direct power supply form the battery thanks...

You have no controls? can you post a pic ? I get power from the headlight power plug .

Something is wired up wrong if you got no low beam. Like evil.... I used the stock low beam headlamp wiring!

I just did this mod and love the new HIDs the light output is amazing over stock!!! I also just used the stock wiring harness no need to tear it out and rewire anything.:thumbsup:

I am hoping this thread draws some HID experts in. I think the questions I posted in the group buy thread are not very visible. I am very interested in trying out the HID because I ride a lot at night, and I am disappointed in the performance of the stock lighting.

I have been reading through the HID posts here, and have a few questions.

1) Is there still a better Xenonking price for org members than what is posted on the xenonking.com web site?

2) Does anyone have bigger pictures of the components in the kits and of the installation for the McCulloch or Visionpro?

3) Can the VisionPro bulbs be swapped with the McCulloch bulbs? I would like a 5000K for low and a 4300K for the high. I do a lot of night riding on isolated roads. I wouldn't mind burning the bushes away from the sides of the road :)

4) I have a 2009 Busa. Is the timer still recommended?

5) When you have HID for high and low, should you put a timer on each one? If not, what are the drawbacks of not having the timer on the high beam?

Thanks!

1) Yes, there is a thread from xenonking with pricing.
2) I have the Mccollugh kit, but no pics, you can safely tuck it into the nose section.
3) Why would you do that? Get the mccollough bulbs in the temperatures you want, i did 4.3k low 6k high.
4) No timer needed on my 2008.
5) You do not need a timer.

Hope this helps.

Used all the info here and got them together today! The 6k HIDs look amazing. The worst part was getting the fairings off...is it really necessary to take the side fairings off to access the headlight. It seemed a bit pointless to me. Anyways, definitely worth the money!:cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:

Like he said above! Remove windshield, side panels, and dash!

I should have paid a bit more attention to the fine print! =)

Anyone know the size of the rubber grommets that secure the windscreen to the fairing? I think they are called Well Nuts, but I cannot find the appropriate size for the Gen II...They come in 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm standard. My fat Jimmy Dean fingers dropped one while installing the new lights....

Look like this M5 Wellnuts | Specialty metric screws for your motorcycle as well as Fuel, Lube, and Air filters for your car or truck.

Thanks again for all the help and the guides that were posted, very helpful!

I bought a high and Kia kit from DDM. I was told for Gen1 it's H7 and 9005 bulbs

Thanks guys for all the info. Just ordered 4 sets. One for my low beam and 3 for my buddy's King Quad. 3 of these on his 4 wheeler is going to be insane.
