Harley crossover

Another Harley to Busa convert here...

Never a single regret and there's plenty on the market to make your Busa just what you need if you find you need to make some minor adjustments...

Best of luck!

Got both and generally I alternate days riding them.  They are both great bikes - totally different.  I love bikes and would add more to my stable if I could (aka wife would let me).

Thank everyone for your responses.  I have not read a forum post yet where the busa owner regrets buying the bike or wish for a different bike.  To me that says it all.

I will post pictures soon.

Note: I use the member name busa senior because I am 55.  I thought at 55 I was kind of over the hill for a sport bike but maybe not (this is just about the median age of my harley riding buddies).
I was 55 last year when I bought my busa. You will adapt to the new riding position, I did. I could only ride my cruiser for about 100 miles before I had to get off of it. Getting ready to take the busa on a 2500 mile trip. In one year I have put more than 18K on the busa. You will wish you had bought the busa sooner! Welcome to the org.

Have a Harley (see signature) and am 6'2" 235, no problems with the Busa for comfort, it will feel different for a bit but you will get used to it, the real challenge is getting back on the Harley, it feels completely foreign and slowwwwwwwwww

Didnt have a harley. But came over from a cruiser. Rode a Honda 1800 VTX Retro. The busa was a little odd for me at first, 6'7" 300lbs, contact VMAN1300 and get some TL pegs. I did that and it lowered my feet down .75". If that wont be enough go to your harley shop get some buell x9 or 12 pegs will drop you down even further. You could always go with risers to raise up the handle bars. But for me after the pegs my bike became totally different. I felt more in control heh could be a mind thing also. Congrats on the purchase!

57 when I bought mine this year. Never regretted it either! I've had just about everything over the years but this bike..well..nothing compares. Nothing.

Welcome to the site. Enjoy. Snoop around and if you so desire..become a donating member.

hogger...

Welcome!
I've not owned a harley. But I am also an older rider almost 47
and female.I started with a'78CB750 Honda went to an '87Virago 1100 then a kawasaki ZRX1200 all building to the best!!!! My 05 Red and black.I absolutly LOVE it. I'm a daily rider,I hardly drive anymore.I've had her 3 mo.yesterday and have already gone 6k.You will find all kinds of excuses to go ride.cograts on the best!!!!

I'm 55 yo, 6'5", 200 libs and I've never ridden a more comfortable bike than the 'busa. I put the Gen Mar riser on it. I just did a 1300 mile week and loved it. I even found the stock seat to be comfortable. I think it's all what you're use to. I just rode a new Suzuki M109 cruiser and while I loved the engine, I just couldn't get use to the "legs forward" position. Like others have said, ride it for awhile and you'll soon grow to appreciate it for what it is. Just learn to RESPECT it's power. As I tell young squids--with this bike your brain is in your right wrist! Enjoy!!!

Enjoyed reading the Harley crossover posts and comments from the over 50 riders. I'm 55 and have a Bourget Chopper with an S&S 124" that I love, but after numerous rides on a friends Busa I had to add one to the toy box.

Anxiously awaiting its Jan 2, 07 arrival.... Now if only I could fast forward past the cold midwest temps!

welcome to the board and congrats on the purchase (we need pics once you get it lol)...where are you located in the midwest?  try to make it to the
if you can't, then try to at least make it to

Dude, I rode Harleys for 27 years.Worked at local Harley dealer. Still like old school bobbers-pans and shovels. Have had a couple of sport bikes, nothin' like a Busa until a couple of weeks ago.
Now at 55 and 5' 11" 27lbs overweight I'm ridin' a red&black 06 Hayabusa. Totaly love it. At 6'3" Idon't know what it would be like.
Harley = out dated technology-lack of power and poor handling. Not ditzin' Harley just statin' the facts as I understand "em.

I am a cross-over also but I still have my HD's. A 1961 Panhead, old school chopper and a 2002 Road King that is full SE and puts 100 HP to the rear wheel with a Baker 6-speed. So you can see I am into the mod's, but I also like a fun bike to ride. The 'busa and the HD's are not comparable, I like the Road King for what it is designed to do....cruise. With the engine mod's and the Baker 6-speed it will cruise at 80 to 90 with no problem. Now the 'Busa is a Sport bike, it is like going from an Escalade to Saleen Mustang. Comfort??? I am 6'2 and 235 lbs. so I no light weight. Put a double bubble on it, the Gen Mar riser (mine is 3/4") and the mirror extenders and you will be happier. Welcome to the org., great bunch of people who support what we like to do....RIDE!

(SLA1500 @ Dec. 27 2006,15:43) Warputer;  Here's a pic of the chopper.  Will post the Busa when it arrives.
My favorite color!  Here is a picture of the Pan, notice I am still running a mouse trap.

Great to hear that the 6'2" and taller guys are happy with the Busa!! This is a great site!!

dmrowe; nice chop.... mousetrap...? Great quote!

I've never riden a Harley but I am also new to the Busa coming from an upright riding position on My V-Max's.  I don't think it's a size & weight issue (I'm 5'10" & 160 lbs.) as much as that it's just a whole different riding position that what we are accustomed to, gotta kinda retrain our brains so to speak, I'm hoping.  Great to see all the positive encouraging feedback on this post, when I came in and expressed how awkward the Busa felt to me I was called a whinner and told to go buy a Gold Wing.

Onerabidshark, this look familiar? Is your's an 05 and did you have to cut the hump to accomodate mounting the grab bar?
