Harley V-Rod

the ones at my drag strip are runing like 11.3's or higher the bus does 9.72 have seen 600's beat the 11.3

Tell him to meet you at the local track for buddy night....................he just wants to see the Busa run anyway...........

From 1940-2010,95% of all Harleys are still on the road today.... If he's lucky he'll be in the 5% of Harleys that made it home.

FWIW there are some big block V Rods out there . Some as big as 1450 .
You'll have to see how it goes . If it is a 1450 you'll be in for a supprize . But you'll stil get him if theres enough road

Well to be fair, the VROD is probably the only modern technology that Harley has introduced in some time as far as engines are concerned, and I belive that Harley outsourced the design of that motor and worked with either yamaha or ford motors to help build the VRODS motor. I could be wrong on that, If I am, im sure I will be corrected... All things considered I just think that the Harley brand is not worth what they want to charge, in addition to just old technology. I think they are far better for cruising than racing, even a VROD...

porsche, actually, was consulted on the design of the motor.

and destructificate, well, it's exactly what'll happen to the vrod:whistle:

(SFC-Rick) You have a V-Max right.....Let's see V-Max against V-Rod....Sounds good to me...Waste the V-Rod with the Max

Take him. Tell him you're not sure if your Busa can handle a VRod...hehehehe

Pump him up, them let the air out of his ego.

Ok, so it's a Harley with a little silver bottle...?

I wouldn't worry about that little guy...

Seriously though, you should be fine. I'd even put some money on it if I were you. Of course taking it to your local drag strip is the best, safest way to go.

I keep trying.....can't get ONE VRod to run against the Max...I keep trying. I have gotten one guy on a Super Glide to try...but that's another funny story(sort of) but it really hurt my neighbors feelings, especially after the salesman promised him his Super Glide HAD a 100hp.

It's fibbing like that, that causes untold thousands of riders to get their feelings hurt.

I'm hoping one day a guy on a VRod Destroyer will pull up at the red light....maybe it'd be fair then? I hear those bikes can pull 8 second 1/4 mile times...and they only cost $37,000 !

The guy rides it on the street "almost daily"... It's not going to be an uber drag bike, and won't have anything for the Busa, even if it has N2O.

I once knew this guy with a Pinto that was extremely fast, yet I still have no fear of Pintos beating me if I come across one on the street. Just because there exist examples of "special" V-Rods doesn't mean that the collection of V-Rods as a whole should be feared. I would be willing to wager that I could race every V-Rod I come across from now until I'm too old to ride, and would never lose a race to one. That tells you how many "fast" ones I've ever saw in real life.

That will never happen. They aren't street legal, and cannot be tagged. If you want to race one of those, you'll have to do it on a track. Good luck finding a bike that rare at the local strip.

I agree with you ! But there are several out there . More so in the 1340 range . At least where Im from

I had a 04 v rod with rinehart 2n1 exhaust, pc3, k&n, screamin eagle cam kit and I put a whopping 127hp to the tire on a dynojet. I would not give it a second thought to it. plus the clutches are weak. I liked the bike, but as heavy as it was, it was a turd.

not to mention I think The stock rev limiter was 8800, mine was set @ 9200 and it still was no big deal.

It was BMW.

it was porsche that designed the motor atleast as far as the 1130cc was concerned....I dont know about the 1250'S

That's because most are still sitting unsold on the showroom floor.

There is one that shows up at our monthly bike night at a local strip. Nice guy riding it, but he's big, and not a very good rider. It does not perform well.
