If the vin is clear and you can verify the maintenance...for 4900 I would buy it regardless of the miles

Nope. I'm guilt of not rading all of the posts in a long chain and responding from time to time. I was going to tell you I smell a scam. Anything you find listed under $7K is most likely a scam unless it's rashed up. 23K miles isn't much and not all Busas are raced. I'm about to turn 20K miles on my '05. Check out the sale section here.

Hello all, i'm new here,

Looking for some info on the hayabusa's engine.
I am looking at a 2000 with about 23k miles on it, Since it's a busa i am going to be fiar and say it has been raced alot.
If i do purchase this bike will i be going into a bad deal were i'm going to be replacing parts from the get go? Or is it the busa has a well built engine that will hold up I'll be putting about 3-4k miles a season

Right off the bat... you're wrong. It's now 06 and that bike is a 00.

Who says it's been "raced a lot"?

Sorry if I'm late... but most busas have not been raced. Most are adult-owned bikes and ridden pretty responsibly... but yeah... taken fast at high rpm's at times... but not raced or crashed.
